Kiana -
As the first rays of dawn crept through the curtains, I awoke, my mind still heavy with the events of the previous night. The absence of Dion from the bed next to me sent a jolt of realisation through my body, and I sat up. Last night wasn't supposed to happen; he had called Alessia's name. My heart sank as I replayed the scene in my mind, feeling a deep sense of regret and betrayal. How could I have let myself get caught up in a moment that wasn't meant for me?
I got out of bed and dressed up quickly. I had duties to attend to, and I couldn't let my personal feelings interfere with my responsibilities.
I was in the library reading stories to the preschool kids. The children hung on to every syllable, their eyes wide with wonder and their smiles stretching from ear to ear. As I watched their innocent faces light up with joy, I couldn't help but feel a glimmer of happiness amidst my inner turmoil.
A burst of breeze brought a familiar scent of pine and musk. He was here.
I couldn't help but glance towards the entrance, hoping to glimpse Dion. He was standing near the window, leaning against its frame. His arms were folded, and he was just staring at me.
His piercing gaze was unreadable, as usual. I continued reading the story.
"Alpha, do you need something? Shall I call Kiana?" A teacher asked him.
"No, it's fine. Tell Kiana to meet me in my office." I said that and walked away.
I turned and saw Dion walk away. I wonder why he was here. Was he just passing by, or did he have a specific reason for being at the school?
"Kiana, Alpha Dion is looking for you." Raven said to me as I left the library, and she took over the kids.
"Ok." I mumbled; I didn't want to see him. I had been avoiding Dion. I couldn't bear to face him and deal with the tension between us. But as the evening descended, I couldn't hold off anymore. There had been several summonses from him.
When I entered his office, Dion was on the phone, talking to someone. He was still dressed in a bathrobe; his hair was wet, and rivulets of water were dripping down his shirt, creating damp spots. He must have just gotten out of the shower then. I cleared my throat to get his attention, and he quickly ended the call. Dion's expression softened as he saw me standing there, and he motioned for me to take a seat. The tension between us was palpable, but I knew it was finally time to confront it.
"It's good to see you, my Alpha." I greeted pleasantly at him.
He only stared at me disinterestedly.
I took it as a chance to keep talking: "Sorry I couldn't visit earlier; I was very busy."
Dion hummed thoughtfully.
His voice was low and cautious. "Kiana, we need to talk."
I turned to face him, my heart pounding in my chest.
"About what?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.
I could see the pain in Dion's eyes as he sighed. "About what took place tonight. We were both drunk, and I hope you can forget about that night.
His words hit me hard, like a weight, and hurt because they reminded me of the mistake we both made. But there was no reason to think about it anymore; he was thinking about Alessia.
With a sad heart, I agreed by nodding. "I understand."
"You do?" His eyebrows quirked.
"Yeah," I mumbled. "We both lost our minds because of the alcohol. It means nothing. "
Dion seemed relieved that I wasn't angry or confrontational, and he shifted the conversation to another topic. "There's a pack party coming up, and we'll need to work hard in the next few days to prepare."
The party was a welcome distraction, and I welcomed the change in conversation. "Yes, I'm aware. It's an important event for the pack."
I summoned a smile, the gratitude in his words touching my heart. "It's my pleasure, Dion. I've always been committed to the pack's well-being."
"You can get the details from Gary, and if you need any help, just ask me." That's it; I knew I was dismissed, and he had nothing more to say.

In the days before the much-anticipated pack party, the estate was a hub of busy activity. It was a three-day celebration of the blue moon. It was also a chance to forge new alliances and showcase our strength as a pack. Every little thing had to be just right, and as Luna, it was my job to make sure that everything was perfect.
It seemed like the hours went on forever, and I spent all my free time planning the party. Even though I was fully committed, I was getting tired, which showed.
I couldn't help but notice that Dion was paying more attention than normal, despite everything going on. During the day, he would check on me, make sure I was getting enough rest, and sometimes bring me food.
But one afternoon, the worry and the constant speed of getting ready pushed me to my limits. I was taking care of the last few things when, suddenly; I felt tired. I felt like I was about to fall apart as the world spun around me.
When I woke up, I saw the glaring light of the clinic.
"Good morning, sleeping, princess." Dr. Noah greeted me cheerily.
Noah was the son of the pack healer, and he had just returned from college after completing his medical degree. He was also my best friend since childhood.
I sat up, clutching my head.
"I feel weird," I mumbled, trying to shake off the grogginess.
Noah chuckled and handed me a glass of water. "It's normal to feel disoriented after being unconscious for a while."
"Can I get a painkiller, please?" I asked.
"I am sorry, I can't give you that," Noah replied apologetically.
"Why not? My head is splitting."
Noah hesitated before responding; his eyes sparkled with a mixture of joy and excitement. "It's not good for the baby, Kiana. You're pregnant."
"What?" I exclaimed, my eyes widening in disbelief. The news hit me like a tonne of bricks, instantly making my head spin even more.
"How... I mean. Are you sure?" I asked.
Noah nodded. "I'm sure, Kiana. I am a doctor. I just found out during your check-up today," Noah explained. "We need to take extra precautions now that we know, and I will also inform Dion."
I placed my hand on my belly. A baby? A wave of emotions washed over me as I tried to process the reality of becoming a mother. Dion's baby! I smiled. Would this change things between Dion and me?
"We need to take extra precautions now that we know, and I will also inform Dion." Noah blabbered on.
"NO!" I hastily interrupted him. "Don't tell Dion, or anyone."
His smile faded. "Why Kiana?"
I took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing thoughts. "It's just that I need time to process this news myself before involving anyone else. Please keep this news a secret for now. After the party, I'll tell Dion, but until then, I want to focus on work."
Noah nodded understandingly. "Alright, Kiana. I'll respect your wishes and keep this to myself for now. But what do I tell Dion? He carried you here, and he was worried."
I paused for a moment. "Dion brought me here." I asked in disbelief.
Noah nodded again. "Yes, he caught you when you suddenly fainted in the hall. He was really concerned about you, Kiana."
"Tell him I just needed some rest, and I'll fill him in on everything after the party."

At last, the night of the pack party had come, and the estate was buzzing with life. People from all over the world, including pack members and guests, came together to enjoy this important event. It was a happy and exciting time, and everyone could see how important the event was.
Dion, dressed impeccably in a sharp tuxedo, stood by my side, a vision of regal charm. His blue eyes glistened as we greeted the guests. As Alpha, he was the embodiment of power and authority.
Though he was always around, we barely talked after that night. He seemed satisfied with Dr. Noah's explanation. I was contemplating how to tell him about my pregnancy.
"Tell him." My wolf urged me. I ignored her and checked on the guests.
What I hadn't expected was a ghost from the past.
Alessia suddenly walked in, still as sexy and beautiful as ever. Her presence immediately caused a stir among the guests.
While I stood in shock, she approached with a smile, her voice a soft caress as she said to Dion, "Long time, no see."
Dion stood there with a look of bewilderment in his eyes. I watched the exchange, my heart sinking as I witnessed Dion's response. The tenderness in his gaze, something I had never seen him extend to me, was directed at Alessia.
The painful realisation struck me like a dagger through the heart. I turned inward to my wolf, my voice trembling as I asked, "No matter how hard we try, are we doomed to lose?"
It had been two years since we had seen each other."How have you been, Kiana?" Alessia asked, hugging me.Given our complicated history, I had expected a more distant reception. In a daze, I somehow mustered a polite reply: "I've been well, Alessia. Thanks for asking. It's great to see you again."My attention drifted towards Dion. Probably eyes gave away my true feelings as they locked onto Dion, filled with a cold, lingering stare. The unspoken history between Dion and Alessia cast a shadow over my mood. "I missed you so much, Kiana." Alessia beamed. "You look beautiful. Is that gown from Dolce and Gabbana?I gave an empty smile. "Thank you, Alessia; where have you been all this time?" I tried to redirect the conversation away from my appearance."Oh, I was travelling here and there, trying to discover myself." Alessia's response only heightened the tension in the room, as it reminded me of the distance that had grown between Dion and me. He was still quietly staring at Alessia. I
Alessia walked into my bedroom, which didn't surprise me. I was expecting her visit since I had been avoiding her."Hey, Kiana," Alessia offered a warm greeting. A faint smile graced her lips.I looked at Gilly, who quietly left my bed and closed the door behind her. My eyes locked onto Alessia's. "Alessia," I replied, my voice soft and full of emotion. "It's been too long."Alessia took a seat at the edge of my bed, her eyes scanning the room, which was adorned with bookshelves, paintings, and photographs. "Your room is beautiful; I can tell that your taste is much better than Dion's. Earlier, his room used to be so boring and bland," she chuckled. The implication that she had frequented Dion's bedroom earlier was not lost on me as I narrowed my eyes.Alessia's eyes sparkled with a mixture of fondness and concern. "You know, Kiana, I've missed you a lot in these two years. It's like a part of me was missing."I remained silent, my gaze fixed on Alessia. I knew my friend too well; s
A heavy silence lingered between us as Dion avoided my gaze, his eyes distant and evasive. "Yes, I hope you can understand," he finally murmured.I sneered, with a bitter edge to my tone. "Understand? How can I understand when everything has become a twisted mess?"My voice was quivering with a mix of frustration and hurt. "For over two years, I've worked hard, believing that you would notice me if I just kept trying. Why did everything changes when Alessia came back?"Dion sighed, his shoulders sagging as if under the weight of his own decisions. "Kiana, it's not that simple. I made a promise to Alessia, and I wanted to fulfil it."I couldn't bear to let him finish. Interrupting him, I shook my head in disbelief, feeling a sense of discouragement settle in. "A promise to Alessia? Is that all you care about? What about me?"Dion hesitated. "What has this got to do with you, Kiana?" I don't understand why you are being so unreasonable."I cut him off. "Unreasonable? Dion, I was so stu
Dion _I clutched the divorce agreement in my hand, a heavy weight settling in my chest. The sadness that gripped me was inexplicable. I had never considered divorce, and the reality of it left me bewildered. Why would Kiana, who had confessed her feelings for me, choose to end our marriage? As I sat there, trying to make sense of it all, memories of our passionate moments flooded my mind. She was so beautiful and responsive. My wolf loved her the moment I found out that she was my mate. I resisted the bond, all because of my stupid ego and a promise. My stubbornness had pushed her away. I never considered her feelings. It was natural that she felt insecure when Alessia returned to the pack. I should have asked for her opinion instead of taking my decision. The regret washed over me, intensifying the heaviness in my chest and fuelling the desire to fight for what we once had. "Why, Kiana?" I whispered to the surrounding emptiness, as if the answer lingered in the air. The room felt c
I left the pack behind, a choice I had never imagined I'd have to make. I couldn't stay with Dion any longer, not after what had transpired. I could get through the physical and mental pain of my miscarriage, thanks to my powerful ability to heal. I was proud of how strong I was because I was now standing on my own, ready to face a future I couldn't quite picture. I had never been on my own. But I knew enough about the humans to survive. I had some money, so I boarded the first bus I saw, heading towards a city I had never been to before.I arrived in the small, quaint town of Springdale. The town, nestled between rolling hills and dotted with charming cottages, seemed frozen in time—a perfect destination for tourists seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. Little did they know that I, too, was seeking a fresh start, a chance to redefine myself beyond the shadows of my past.My first goal was simple—to find a job that would allow me to sustain myself. The windows of a
Kiana - "I am Lucas Randall. Alpha of the whispering shadows pack. Would you like to join my pack?" His voice boomed.I blinked, feeling the night's breeze caress my skin. The risks were high, and Lucas's offer was almost too good to be true. I couldn't take the chance of him finding out who I really was because it could flare up rivalry..I politely turned down Lucas's offer. "Thank you, Alpha Lucas, but I'd rather walk by myself. I don't want a pack."His smirk deepened, amusement glinting in his eyes. "Interesting," he mused, his voice a low rumble that resonated with the authority of an alpha."But every lone wolf, especially one as young and beautiful as yourself, is vulnerable. What is your name, lone wolf?"I paused, my gaze exploring the starry expanse surrounding us. I could not reveal my real name."Anya," I said, my voice firm. "I have always been a rogue wolf since my parents died. They were also rogues like me."Lucas's smile held a knowing edge. "Anya," he repeated, t
Dion I awoke as usual; the days passing with an uncanny routine after Kiana's disappearance. I continued with the routines that defined my existence, preserving the picture-perfect Alpha persona.Reports came in, business partners were met, and worried directors were given advice from experts. In the afternoons, I was always on time for meetings, and I was happy with how they turned out, which was up to my high standards. Even the extra worry of border disputes didn't interest me much; I just watched what was going on without feeling like I had to get involved. It all seemed pointless and unimportant. When I returned, Gary, my butler, offered apologies and bowed deeply, sensing the disappointment in my gaze. He had found no leads about Kiana's disappearance. I reiterated my command to find them, uninterested in hearing excuses."But, my Alpha-" he began, but I cut him off, dismissing his failure. "It's simply impossible for anyone to disappear without a single trace."I closed my ey
Kiana- I was lying in bed, and the soft light in the room took me to a dream world where the past came back to me like a vivid memory. I was standing in front of the packed school's enormous gates as a five-year-old. My platinum blonde hair was in ringlets around my face, and my eyes were a strange shade of purple.I saw the scene play out. Before I went into the schoolyard, I paused. My small hand held the strap of my backpack. The sound of laughter filled the air. But the laughter turned to whispers when the other kids saw me as the new kid who looked different."Look at her hair! Is it even real?" One child sneered, triggering giggles from the others.I felt a knot tighten in my stomach, trying to shrink away from the prying eyes. The teasing continued, making me feel even more self-conscious. I took a deep breath, reminding myself that I was strong and unique. That's what Mum told me. "Hey, purple eyes! Are you a vampire?"Another child called out, causing the laughter to escal
