Chapter Six

CHAPTER 6 

Racheal was rushed to hospital where she spent some days, floating between consciousness.

She went through all the stages of grief in those weeks. Her heart was desperately numb. 

When she finally regained consciousness, opened her eyes to a sea of white. She looked around her and realized that she was in a different apartment. She was back in her bedroom.

She couldn't remember the series of events that had brought her here , it could only be that she had been moved here while she had been unconscious.

The pain and regret of that night hit her heart again , even more, her whole body was hurting.

she tried to sit up but her body ached so terribly that she had to lean against the headboard of her bed to catch her breath.

Rach having been through countless life and death situation, could not help but sighed bitterly as she looked upon the ceiling. 

at that moment, the door flew opened and her mother , along side her only friend Susan hurried inside . A look of worry on their faces .

"You are not well ! don't try to get up from bed !" Her mother exclaimed , a steamy bowl in her hand as she made her way towards Rachael.

"It was due to Celebs irresponsible attitude towards me that caused you this. His mockery towards you has no end. he thinks too highly of himself!" Susan exclaimed, her face coloured pink in anger .

"Your dad is so cruel, so desperate! how could he do this to you!" She ranted, her eyes tearing up as her gaze lingered on the palm print on Racheals pale features . 

"I disobeyed him , he hurt me in return " Racheals voice came out faint , a painful smile spread across her features.

Her mother looked uncomfortable, she couldn't help but feel everything was her fault , her husband was indeed cruel even to their only daughter,  his words were always final, even she dared not disobey him. 

 

The last time she had  discussed Rachel's matter with him while she had been unconscious, he had showed no remorse  , he had merely glanced at her with a disapproving frown,  and had walked away.

He seemed to me more upset about his failed business project than the well-being of his family.

she forced herself to breathe through the bitter pain in her chest at her daughter's condition , but she indeed was helpless, she had no way to defend her daughter not herself.

"My dad wants me to kneel for Celeb and beg him" Rachel's voice cuts through the silence, She gritted her teeth at the humiliation her father gave her.

 

She bit her lips, her tears streaming down her face as she watched her mom so  bitterly, her heart ached very badly as anger rushed through her body in a way that had never happened before. 

Racheal looked cold without altering any word again as she found it unreasonable to challenge her mom. it wouldn't make any difference. 

"Such a cold hearted man, the video of him pushing you is all over the media , he doesn't love you at all , what's the big fuse about getting married to him, he isn't that great  , I'm so angry !" Susan fumed.

Racheal was about to respond when another figure entered the room. it was Mrs Carolyn. 

Caleb's mother .

Seeing Rachel's pale face , a gasp escaped the older woman's mouth , she had always liked Rachael and didn't really want to believe her own son would choose that golddigger girlfriend of his over his fiance , his impending marriage to Rachael had been fixed before they both had been born . The friendship between the Williams and the Sterlings has already lasted for several generations , Grandpa Bart had willed this marriage before his death , and it was the only way Caleb could fully inherit the company.

"I'm so sorry for what happened to you dear ! I apologise for my son's behaviour, how do you feel now ?"
