Chapter Three

CHAPTER THREE

Rachel stared at the five-star restaurant in front of her, nervous and doubtful at the same time, where if not for Susan who was solidly beside her, she would have turned around, set to return home.   Her friend's idea was risky, there was only a slight chance that it would not backfire on her, and that would put her in much bigger problems.

Creating and fooling both families by creating a huge scandal would make both families have no other choice but to call off the wedding?  She was going to do this, even when knowing that it would as well ruin her reputation.

The sterlings no matter how close they were with her father would never want their daughter's in-law reputation to be soiled

Not only was Racheal planning to fake a sexual assault on herself, but she also knew that if she failed the consequences would be dire.

They would have to change their minds about the marriage plans...

It wouldn't be her fault then, no one could blame her because she was the victim of the whole thing.

" Racheal you are crazy," a whisper in her head told her but the oddest thing was that she did not feel guilty as she had thought she would. She had never felt more clear-headed as she did this instant.

This was the most daring thing she has done in her life and most terrifying too, yet she was calmer than ever, more certain about this than anything else.

"Are you ready to put on a great show ?" Susie spoke, she was looking more excited about the drama they were going to put on, she seemed more enthusiastic than Racheal herself.

Racheal nodded slowly as they both entered the restaurant.  The man they had secretly arranged it with would soon arrive, She was going to act like being sexually assaulted where they were many eyes who could reach it.

A loud gasp escaped Susan's mouth as she stared at the table behind Racheal, she couldn't read her eyes away. Curiously,  Rachel swiveled around to see a strikingly beautiful woman who was peering into a magazine, a pair of glasses sat proudly on her dainty nose. Aside from the woman's striking beauty, she saw no other thing that could make Susan remain immobile.

"This just got uncomfortable, do you know who is sitting over there ?" Susan whispered furiously.

Rachel reverted her attention to the woman, this time wondering what was about her that could make Susan so upset.

"She is Laura Bane "

The name struck Rachel with recognition. She had heard the name severally, but she had never before seen her in person.

This was Caleb Sterling's rumored girlfriend.

Racheal stared at the beautiful woman without any expression,  she looked graceful and calm as she took a sip out of her glass.

She was being forced into marrying Caleb, even though it was merely for business purposes, she couldn't help but wonder if this woman was still Caleb's girlfriend.

It has been months since she last saw Caleb, that had been at a charity function, she wondered what he thought of this marriage deal since she had only heard about it from her parents.  A better thought formed in her mind, maybe she didn't need to put up a pretense, if she could persuade Mr . Caleb that she wasn't willing to marry him, everything would be a lot easier.

She turned around swiftly, hurrying towards the door, ignoring Susan who was calling after her.

She kept on at a fast pace until a hard force had her losing her balance, her foot slipped as her knees gave way to the floor.

A cry of pain escaped her mouth as her knees scraped hard.

Her gaze caught sight of a neatly polished shoe, slowly trailing upwards to an equally charcoal colored suit.

Standing elegant and poised was none other than Caleb Spencer.

She was staring into his icy grey eyes.

In the last position, she wanted to be.
