Shopping with Gabriel

Millie ran to her room. What was it Gabriel had said? They were both thrilled she wasn't a bag of bones! What did he mean? Didn't they like thin sexy girls? That isn't what the press said. She saw the pictures in newspapers and magazines.

She washed the tears away, changed her top and brushed her hair. She didn't want to go out without setting things right with Nick. But, just as she was leaving the kitchen, Gabriel came running down the stairs.

"Are you ready, Millie?"

"Can I see Nick?"

Gabriel shook his head and took her hand, leading her outside to his car.

"Not right now love he's working. You know he doesn't like to be disturbed. He'll want to see you later, though. Now don't you worry about him, Nick's temper is very short, and he doesn't bear grudges. He has already forgiven you."
