Chapter 6

Quinn only felt that Calvin\'s words exploded in his ears like thunder. He felt the hair on his arms stand on end as he looked at Calvin in shock.

His voice wasn\'t that soft, and the people close to them managed to hear him.

Quinn\'s mother was stunned for two seconds, and when she understood the meaning of Calvin\'s words, she froze instantly.

Her wide and tearful eyes kept glancing back and forth between Quinn and Calvin.

  \"Quinn, my dear, you...\"

Calvin took a step back, a big smile was still plastered on his face. He waved his hand and picked up the glass of wine he had put down before, his tone was relaxed, \"Okay, show\'s over.\"

Everyone spread out. When the slender and straight figure went away, Quinn\'s mother trembled and shed a few more tears. Her fingers clasped Quinn\'s arm, but she couldn\'t speak for a moment.

At this time, Xia just laughed, her white wedding dress blindingly dazzled.

She took a few steps toward Quinn, a triumphant smile evident on her face.

\"Quinn, like I said earlier, even if you climbed onto Calvin\'s bed, he wouldn\'t have the slightest pity for you. You see, even if you used such a petty ploy to attract his attention today, he still didn\'t even look at you.\"

Her voice was as crisp as a silver bell, clanging loudly over and over again, \"Wake up, Calvin is just playing with you. Seriously, stop dreaming!\"

Xia basically thought that because Quinn couldn\'t have Calvin, he then tried to get his attention with his little show to destroy the wedding.

Quinn couldn\'t help but sigh at her naivety.

He almost forgot that Xia was such a vain person, of course she wouldn\'t just easily let go of someone who publicly humiliated her.

Before Quinn could say anything, Quinn\'s father understood it first.

He was already irritated by Quinn\'s behavior today, and hearing Xia\'s statements only added fuel to the fire. His whole body trembled with anger and called out a few cuss words one after another as he pointed at Quinn before fainting.

\"Dad!\" Quinn rushed up instinctively but was pushed away by his mother.

He didn\'t know where such strength came from that her shove made him stagger to his feet.

\"Go away, Quinn. I thought you were not as worthless as your sister. I tried every means to defend you, but instead you...\"

She wiped away her tears and glared at Quinn, \"The Leng family doesn\'t have a shameless son like you! Get out of here and never show up in front of us ever again!\"

Quinn stiffened and the color on his face faded away.

It was one thing to not want to come home but it was another thing to really hear his mother renounce him as the Leng family\'s son.

How could people be like this? They didn\'t even give him the opportunity to explain himself.

He didn\'t know who called for help, but soon enough, some medical staff came over with a stretcher and hurriedly sent Quinn\'s father to the ambulance.

The wedding scene was full of twists and turns, but there was no displeasure on Xia\'s face. She almost wanted to laugh upon seeing Quinn\'s desperate look right this moment.

\"Mr. Leng, I have something to do, so I\'ll leave first,\" Xia said with a smile, turning around to leave as soon as she was done speaking, but was suddenly held back.

Quinn\'s fingers were cold as he clasped her wrist tightly. His face was pale but his eyes were burning red.

His voice was cold as he spoke through gritted teeth, \"Xia, I\'m telling you, I will make you pay for every horrible thing you\'ve done to me and my sister.\"

Xia was taken aback causing her to miss a beat of her own breathing. Her heart was beating fast, the expression on her face was not natural. She yanked hard and slapped away Quinn\'s hand.

His tawny eyes were still staring at her coldly, and Xia couldn\'t help but feel fury in her heart.

She thought about it, and then she laughed again, \"Then are you going to deliberately be an enemy of the Lu family?\"

Quinn\'s narrow eyes stared at her, unblinking, as if he was about to uncover the mask on her face and look directly into her heart.

Xia really couldn\'t bear Quinn\'s gaze, her hands subconsciously clenched into fists.

\"Whatever,\" she said as she rolled her eyes. She gathered the fabric of her gown\'s skirt and hurriedly walked away, unwilling to stay for another second.

Quinn looked at the woman\'s retreating back in silence. His eyes were reddish, but he didn\'t do anything else.

He stood there for a long time before turning his back to leave.

Xia\'s reaction was just what he expected. His sister\'s matter was by no means that simple, but he could only do so much without any evidence at his disposal.

He swore that no matter who it was, whether it was Xia or Calvin, he would make the person who hurt his sister pay the price!

Calvin hasn\'t visited Quinn for several days. He saw on the headlines that today was the day when Calvin and Xia would get their marriage certificate.

The Civil Affairs Bureau was already full of reporters who were patiently waiting for the two to pass by so they could get a headline.

It was strange to say that the two of them have not yet received a certificate even though they have already had such a sensational wedding in the city.

Quinn looked at the screen of the phone, the corner of his mouth suddenly pulling up into a smile.

The slender body stood up, casually donned on a cloak, grabbed the car key, headed out and went straight to the Civil Affairs Bureau.
