Chapter 7

When Calvin received the call from Quinn, the car had just arrived at the door of the Civil Affairs Bureau.

Xia, who was sitting beside him, deliberately put on delicate makeup today. And when she saw Calvin picking up the phone, her face couldn\'t help but change.

  \"Calvin, what\'s the matter?\" she asked softly.

Calvin was holding the phone in his hand, but his brows were deeply furrowed, and a slender and clean palm was raised to signal the driver to stop.

He seemed to have completely ignored what Xia had said. He only heard Quinn\'s voice from the other end of the phone, and asked him an urgent question, \"Where are you?\"

Xia heard it too. Quinn\'s voice was unique, no one had his voice so she immediately knew that it must\'ve been a call from Quinn.

Outside the car window, countless reporters were aiming to invade their private space.

Xia only heard the sound of the car door, and the person beside her had already gotten out of the car on his own.

\"Calvin!\" she called out, but it was too late.

As soon as the slender and neat figure of the man appeared in the camera, the various media suddenly bounced off their spots and rushed to the door of the Civil Affairs Bureau to get in position.

After waiting for a few seconds, he didn\'t see Xia getting off the car so Calvin turned away quickly in the opposite direction as if there was something urgent he needed to take care of and left.

There was an uproar at the scene, and even Xia who was sitting in the car was stunned for a moment.

She couldn\'t help but clench her fist fiercely, her eyes welled up with tears as she wished for Quinn to burn into ashes!

On the Tianhai Road, Quinn stood by the side of the road waiting for someone.

Calvin\'s expression was stern when he arrived. He hurriedly got out of the car, even his suit was slightly wrinkled.

He turned out to have taken a taxi just to get here.

Seeing his hurried steps, Quinn couldn\'t help but raised his eyebrows slightly, a touch of surprise swept across his eyes.

He didn\'t expect that this man actually left Xia alone and rode a taxi all the way from the Civil Affairs Bureau because of his phone call.

Calvin saw Quinn standing on the side of the road, his upper body leaning on a pillar. How could he tell him that he was about to die in a car accident?

He gritted his teeth harder, and when he stopped in front of Quinn, the expression on his face was already as dark as the bottom of a pot.

However, Quinn still had a smug smile on his face, his brows and eyes were crooked and he looked triumphant.

\"Cal, you\'re early,\" he smiled and greeted Calvin. Ignoring the muffled pain in his heart, the smile on his face was impeccable.

Calvin couldn\'t help but grit his teeth as he stared fiercely at the person in front of him, looking at Quinn from head to toe with a sharp gaze.

His voice was low and he raised his eyes to look behind Quinn, \"What about the car?\"

Quinn was taken aback. He raised his hand and stroke his hair, in a very relaxed tone, he spoke, \"I didn\'t drive.\"

This couldn\'t be more clear, Quinn just called and lied to him.

\"Well, you look good,\" Calvin pointed out in a matter-of-fact tone.

He lowered his voice, his brows furrowed. Quinn had obviously tested his patience this time around. He stepped closer to Quinn as he condescendingly locked eyes with him.

Quinn\'s face remained unchanged but his hands in his trouser pockets were sweaty.

Fortunately, his car had just been taken away by the towing company, otherwise, he wouldn\'t be able to see and appreciate Calvin\'s angry expression right now.

Thinking of this, Quinn couldn\'t help but gently raise the corner of his mouth.

\"I didn\'t expect for Cal to care so much about me that he would really leave his fiancée and run over.\"

He spitefully spat out the word \"fiancée\" as if to remind Calvin that the reason why he ran over here today was because he never really wanted to marry Xia.

Calvin furrowed his brows as he stared intently at Quinn, the man\'s brown eyes were sure and full of excitement.

He could see that the man didn\'t have any injuries.

Thinking of this, Calvin was surprised to find that in his heart, a sigh of relief actually knocked over his monstrous anger.

He would rather be deceived by him than to see a bloody person when he came.

But Quinn still made him looked like a fool and it made him angry.

He gritted his teeth lightly, snorting coldly before turning around to leave.

Calvin paused and turned his head with a cold face when his sleeves were pulled by Quinn.

Quinn held him in one hand, and shook the phone in the other hand, with a bit of teasing in his tone.

\"You temporarily left before receiving the certificate, your name has been trending online. If you go back now, don\'t you think that gives the media more room for speculations?\"

Calvin looked at the little bit of pride in the corner of Quinn\'s eyes. For some reason, he thought that this person had ruined his wedding first, then lied to him to prevent him and Xia from obtaining their certificate.

The emotions welled up in his heart.

He couldn\'t help but think that Quinn schemed and tricked him into coming over, and just now, he was convincing him not to go back to the Civil Affairs Bureau.

Was Quinn afraid that he would really marry Xia?

Calvin saw through Quinn\'s scheming, but he felt a little happy.

Everyone says that he was good to Quinn, but they didn\'t know the true reason behind it.

In the recent years, this arrogant and stubborn young man has already made his way into his heart and has become a part of him.
