Chapter Sixty Nine

Jared woke up with a throbbing headache. He touched his head and he realized that he was in his human form. He remembered wrestling with whatever beast was in his basement and the beast flying away with him. He had done a lot of damage to it before Jared eventually fell off its back but that was all he could remember. It was like the rest of what happened had gone missing from his memories. He looked around and saw Xavier tied to a chair. He had so many questions.

“Xavi!” Jared called out.

“Oh, that would be of no use. He can’t hear you. His mind his very far from his body right now” Doris said as she walked out from the shadows and walked up to him.

“Let him go!” Jared screamed at her.

“And why would I do that? You don’t still see it, do you? You are in no position to make demands or give orders. You have lost this war, Jared. Give us what we want and he would walk out of here, alive. If you stand against us, I can’t guarantee anybody walking out of here alive. The choice is your
