Chapter 7

Hazel’s POV

It was the next morning and as always, it wasn’t easy getting ready for school, I had chores and I hadn’t attended to any of it and I was sure I wouldn’t be let off easily.

“Your getting late to school, Hazel. Have you ever had your bath?” Lorena asked as I watched the dishes in the kitchen while she cleaned up and arranged.

“I haven’t Lorena, when I’m done with my chores I will.” I replied and continued washing the dishes.

“I’ll do that for you Hazel, you cannot be late to school today, remember you're taking the bus.” She stopped what she was doing and turned to me.

“It’s okay Lorri.” I smiled.

“You don’t feel so good Lorri , I cannot have you work.” I reminded her and she smiled.

“I am fine, I will do your chores for you.” She pulled the washing gloves out of my hand as we spoke.

“You sure about this Lorena?”

“Yes Hazel.” I smiled and pulled her into a tiny hug.

“Thank you.” I was about to run out of the kitchen so I could get ready for school but I stopped in my tracks
