Chapter 1

Amy Green felt as if a fog had obscured her vision.

She could not see anything, but her other senses were heightened. Flames seemed to envelop her body as waves of heat assaulted her.

She heard heavy breathing and deep moans next to her ear. They were filled with a strong sense of dominance.

Amy tried hard to open her eyes to see the other person, but her eyelids felt incredibly heavy.

After what felt like an eternity, it finally came to an end. Right then, she saw the person’s attractive and muscular chest. There was a tattoo of a black eagle with a sharp gaze near the left side. Its fierce and intimidating appearance gave her chills.

“Ah!”

Amy screamed and woke up from her dream.

She was covered in a cold sweat as she sat up in bed. Her nine-month pregnant belly made every move awkward and challenging.

The elderly Mrs. Harper, who was sleeping beside her, felt her granddaughter’s movements and quickly asked, “What’s wrong? Another nightmare?”

Amy nodded wearily.

Seeing her pale and thin face, Mrs. Harper could not help but feel distressed. “What happened back then... wasn’t your fault,” she comforted Amy.

“Do you really think so? But they’re all blaming me. They say it’s my fault.”

Amy’s gaze was unfocused as she stared blankly ahead.

Nine months ago, she had been the Green family’s beloved daughter. She was about to be engaged to her childhood sweetheart, Justin Quinn.

Unexpectedly, she accidentally lost her virginity at her bachelorette party.

The scandal swept through the Internet the next day.

[Breaking news! On the eve of her engagement, Amy Green of Hampshire City’s Green family spends a passionate night with a bar attendant in a hotel!]

Her reputation was ruined.

Her mother, Serena Harper, was devastated by the incident. She committed suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning.

Her father, Michael Green, saw her as an embarrassment and kicked her out of the Green family. He also publicly disowned her.

As for Justin, he announced the cancellation of their engagement a week later and got engaged with Amy’s stepsister, Jenny Green, instead!

Amy became despised as a promiscuous and bad daughter. Even nine months later, there were still people cursing her online.

She had nightmares every night.

In her dreams, there would be images of her mother’s death, her father yelling at her, and that faceless man.

She felt exhausted and tormented.

She could not understand how she ended up in that strange man’s room nine months ago. Why had Justin not kept an eye on her during the bachelorette party? How could he get engaged to her stepsister just a week later? Besides, her mother had always been strong and independent. She remained composed even through her divorce. It did not make sense for her to suddenly take her own life because of this incident.

All these questions filled Amy’s mind. They gave her a huge headache, and her belly hurt as well.

Noticing that she was still unwell, Mrs. Harper quickly fetched her some water while she softly said, “Don’t mind what others say. I know you’re not that kind of person. Here, have some water.”

Amy took a deep breath and reached for it when she suddenly felt a warm flow between her legs.

Looking down, she saw red blood gradually soaking her skirt.

Two hours later, due to the unstable condition of the fetuses, her twins arrived early in this world at a worn-down suburban hospital.
