Chapter 1. Insane Idea

Vincent's breath hitched as cold sweat dripped down his hazel-brown hairline. He repeatedly adjusted the position of his glasses on the bridge of his nose, and slipped on his oily skin due to stress. His hands gripped the steering wheel of the BMW E30 Coupe as it arrived on the side of the road at a housing complex in Queens.

“I must be crazy!” he cursed. Vincent still had time to leave as soon as possible, and he thought better of it. The problem is that he is confused. His cell phone rang again, and this time he hurriedly answered. His saliva had caught in his throat. What should he do if he fails?

“Vince, have you arrived?” a man's voice was heard, asking his position.

"Yes, I'm in front of his house," answered Vincent in a trembling voice. He was nervous and scared.

"Did you check your surroundings?"

Vincent's eyes swept from right to left, then back to check if there were any people or witnesses.

"There's no one," Vincent answered, explaining the situation.

"Good, then you can go!" explained the man again. Vincent turned towards the two-story house, about a few meters from his parking position.

“I-I…”

"Are you afraid now?" Vincent was silent when asked such a question.

“He humiliated you and then fired you! All this time, what Donovan has done is humiliate and fire you. He doesn't even appreciate your efforts to create a firewall for the Horus database! What more did you expect?” said the man again.

Vincent tried to catch his breath. He was frustrated and couldn't take it anymore. His last savings were spent on buying a Glock 23-type short-barreled gun with automatic bullets. This time, he should not back down.

“Do you remember what Chad Donovan did to you last week? He humiliated you in front of Heather!”

Vincent closed his eyes with a tight jaw and squeezed the steering wheel again, which he was still holding in one hand. When he remembered that painful thing, Vincent felt like he wanted to shoot his boss, Chad Donovan, in the head right then. Feelings of hatred and anger gathered in Vincent's mind, especially when the man who called him made oblique accusations.

“Just so you know, Vince. Heather had indeed slept with Chad, and they did this disgusting thing in his office. I had a peek. You trust me, right?”

"Yes, I believe it," answered Vincent briefly, his confidence reappearing.

"Good. Now do your job! Kill Chad Donovan!” said the man who was talking to Vincent again. Vincent complied and nodded. Now he is sure that he will finish off the CEO where he works. Chad has destroyed Vincent's programming and technology career while working at Horus Tech.

“I'm going in now!” Vincent said it again convincingly.

"Okay, good luck, friends!" the telephone connection was cut off. Vincent then thought for a moment. Vincent didn't want to go to jail because the police would have caught him, and it would be very obvious if he walked through the front door.

"I'd better go in the back way." Vincent turned his car past the house and looked for a way to the back of the house. When he arrived, Vincent parked his car in a fairly hidden place and then got out.

He crept into the house after turning off the alarm at the back door. Vincent has expertise in the IT field, so it is not difficult for him to disable the house alarm system.

Vincent slowly made his way through the kitchen and into the dim living room, which had only skewed outside light. He hid the weapon in the bomber jacket he was wearing. His hands were cold from adrenaline, but Vincent didn't care. From the middle room. Vincent crept up again to go up to the second floor, where Chad and his wife were.

With slow steps and a fast heartbeat, Vincent finally managed to climb the second floor. He looked left and right, then adjusted his glasses again. Vincent swallowed again and was about to settle forward again.

Suddenly, the door opened, and Vincent immediately hid behind the wall. He didn't dare peek at what was happening. For a long time, as if he didn't hear anything, Vincent finally peeked and frowned. What happened? Why is the window at the end of the corridor open?

Vincent took out his weapon and then came out of his hiding place into the room whose door had been open. Curiosity made Vincent finally check and go inside.

The room was dark, but there was a strange smell. Vincent innocently pressed the light switch. The inside sight astounded him right away.

Chad Donovan, who was only wearing shorts, was shot dead in the head. He was lying on his back on his bed, while his wife, Miriam, was lying on her stomach on the bedroom carpet in the same condition. Vincent approached slowly and was confused.

“What the?" he muttered in confusion. Chad and his wife were dead before Vincent came in for the kill. In the confusion, Miriam was heard groaning on the floor. Vincent immediately squatted down to turn Miriam's body over. The woman is still alive.

“H-Horus…” Miriam spoke quietly with her eyes open.

"What? "What did you say?” Vincent tried to get closer again to hear more clearly. Unfortunately, he didn't hear any further explanation but the sound of police car sirens. Vincent quickly released his grip on Miriam's lifeless body. He ran to the door and heard the front door being kicked open by police.

“WHOEVER IS INSIDE, DON'T MOVE! Give yourself up; you are arrested!” shouted one of the policemen from downstairs. Vincent panicked and ran outside. He entered one of the rooms and locked it from the inside.

Suddenly, a baby was heard crying and was sitting in his bed basket. Vincent just realized that he had entered the room of the baby, Chad, and Miriam Donovan's child. As he approached and the corner light was still on, Vincent saw a collection of letters glued to the wall indicating the baby's name, Kyron.

“Don't cry! Don't cry! I wasn't the one who killed your parents!” Vincent said frantically, and his gun was still in his hand. The baby stopped crying but continued to stare at Vincent with wet cheeks and a sad face. He cried again and looked like he was hungry, but Vincent had no idea.

Vincent panicked even more and covered the baby's mouth with his hand, but then he let go.

"Oh no! What should I do? I'll get caught if you don't stop crying! Stop!” Vincent's great-grandson asked the baby. Vincent then held the baby, and the baby smiled.

"What should I do?" Vincent put the baby down again, and he cried again. Vincent was forced to carry him again and peek through the window. There was a way for him to climb out, but if he and the baby were out, the police would find out because of his crying.

“You can't stay with me!” the baby seemed to understand and cried again. Vincent was forced to comply. He took the sling so the baby wouldn't fall out of it. Somehow, Vincent, who had never held a baby, was skilled enough to put the sling on his chest. He climbed out of the window with the 9-month-old baby on his chest. After struggling, Vincent, who didn't realize what he was doing, ran to his car, which was parked behind him.

"THERE HE IS! STOP!!"
