Chapter 6

On getting home, Adam dropped the put the groceries he bought in the groceries cabinet and  quickly prepared lunch and went into his bedroom to avoid running into Samantha.

He was about to rest when he remembered he wanted to charge his cellphone.He was about to plug his phone to the charger when he heard a beep on his phone,he checked and saw a W******p message from Jacob Smith.

"Have you checked the internet,if you haven't you should",was what Jacob sent to him.

"Any important news",he replied.

"Yes,the internet is sizzling with what happened in Gems of Nubia.Here's the link",Jacob sent.

He clicked the link and waited for the page to load.Soon he saw different articles speculating what actually happened.He saw a video and clicked on it,he heaved a sign of relief when he saw that his face was well hidden from the camera and his clothes can't be easily decipher.

"That must be the work of Jacob".He must definitely thank him when next they talk.He scrolled down to check the comments.

He saw many comments speculating that there must be a link between the announcement of the latest takeover of the King's empire whose identity is unknown and the stranger at the Gems of Nubia.

Some speculated he could be sitting next to them and they are unaware of it.

Many netizens condemned Lily,Joe,Ann the attendant and Andy the security guard for treating the stranger like trash and are solely responsible for the gate that befall them.

One commented "he must be so rich and powerful enough to be able to own the rare premium black card making him to be the fourth owner of the black card in the whole city".

He logged out of the page, plugged his phone and went to sleep.

Evelyn was working on some files In the office she is sharing with her office colleague and buddy,Benita Lewis who was friendly with her and never judged or treated her harshly when her phone beeped signifying a message.

She opened her phone and found a notification.

She had tuned her phone to get notifications of any trending news.She needed to know what was happening around the city especially in the business industry because she always had her nose buried in work.

She clicked on the link attached to the notification and waited for the news to show.She saw different headlines like The unknown King's heir,The beggar-wealthy transformation,the richest man in town among others.She decided to click on the beggar's transformation.

Evelyn read the blog gist to the end when she saw a video after the last paragraph,she clicked play.She watched the video to the end.

"Why do this figure resemble Adam's figure".

She couldn't see the man's face vividly,she tried to see other pictures still the same.

The only man with that physique that came into her mind was non other than Adam.

"Could this man be Adam",she thought still checking the pictures.

"What am I even thinking",She asked herself."Definitely not,if he had money,he won't have tried to beg Grandpa for the surgery money which in turn made Grandpa embarrassed and ridiculed him.

"Have you seen the latest news",Benita asked Evelyn as soon as she entered the office.

"If it is about the rich stranger,yes", Evelyn replied.

"But, I noticed something about the stranger,why does he resemble .....".

Benita was about to complete her speech when Evelyn's phone beeped again.She checked and saw a wechat message.The message was from the group created by Steve for all Lord Williams grandchildren,niece and nephew within the same age range.

The message was informing them about an impromptu dinner meeting at Lord William's Mansion by 6pm which all must come unfailingly.

Evelyn frowned thinking why am impromptu dinner meeting barely a day after Lord William's birthday dinner."It must be very important".

 "Evelyn, what is it,you are not looking too well",Benita asked her snapping her out of her thoughts.

"Hmm,it's nothing,just an impromptu dinner meeting at the Mansion", Evelyn was referring to Lord William's Mansion.

"An impromptu meeting, after yesterday's birthday celebration,why,why the haste",Benita asked.

"It must be very important.Am suspecting it has to do with President Jacob's press announcement about the new takeover and their forthcoming projects",She responded.

"Ok, have a nice time then.Just make sure you contribute when needed, don't let them control you.Don't let their unfavorable words get to you", Benita told Evelyn.

"Thank you", Evelyn replied.

Benita returned to her work while Evelyn sent a W******p message to Adam informing him not to prepare dinner since they all will be having dinner at Lord William's place.

She was sure her mother must have gotten the message but still sent her a message to avoid any delay.

After sending the messages,she returned to her work.

After the close of work, Evelyn went home to prepare for the dinner.Soon Evelyn together with her parents and Adam got to Lord Williams Mansion.

Evelyn pulled Adam aside while her parents went in and said,"Adam, Grandpa has given you this one chance, once you see Grandpa just let him know you are sorry".

"Alright,I will",Adam replied.He was willing to say sorry just because of Evelyn as she does not deserve to be embarrassed and ridiculed because of him.

Soon,they all say down at the dining table.Lord Williams is yet to come down from his room.His chair was at one end of the table signifying him as the Monarch of the Williams family.

John Williams and his immediate family sat the farthest away from Lord Williams.Everyone avoided sitting close to them like a plague.Nobody greeted them even though John was the first son of Lord Williams to show that they are not welcomed.

Soon,Lord Williams came down and they all stood up to greet him.

Evelyn grabbed Adam's hand and moved closer to Lord Williams.

"Grandpa,thanks for allowing Adam come in,he wants to apologize to you.

"I am sorry......",Adam open his mouth to apologize to Lord Williams when he just waved him off.Adam was annoyed but kept quiet because of Evelyn.

After he sat down,they all say down and Lord Williams gave a nod of his head to the head of his chef, signifying he should start dishing the food.

After the meal,they all gathered in the living room for the meeting.

"Am sure you all are wondering why I called for this urgent family meeting.The main reason for this meeting is concerning the announcement of the King's heir takeover.Obviously you all heard the press release this morning about the king's unknown heir takeover and their forthcoming projects.

"As much as I am interested in knowing the identity of the King's heir.The project contract is much more interesting.Once we have the contract, it's like killing two birds with a stone.We will be able to interact with Mr King and maybe partner with him in other project contracts", Lord Williams finished.

"You want to interact with me after the way you treated me,it is never going to be possible.Even if I told them that I am the King's heir,they won't believe me,I will just keep toying with them since they can't suspect a thing",Adam thought mentally smiling to himself.

Adam brought out his cellphone and was stylishly typing on it making sure it wasn't visible to anyone.He sent a W******p message to Jacob.

"Have someone bring some stuffs to Lord William's Mansion and let them know it's from me to one of his granddaughters without disclosing my identity".

He felt someone tap him and look to his side to see Evelyn looking at him with a sour face.She was using her eyes to pass a message to him telling him to stop typing on his phone.He obliged her and kept his phone back in his pocket.

He knew she wasn't scared of being embarrassed by her family but she didn't want anyone to ridicule him again.He smiled at her in gratitude.
