As he adjusted to the brightness of the phone screen, Mike squinted his eyes.

He desired to decline the call. He didn't want to get involved in the city turf war or the rebels.

He was well aware that, by killing the Vulture, he had essentially agreed to eventually oppose the rebellion. They would fight when something went wrong.

Even though he had successfully killed the Vulture, Mike would not relax.

In addition to his excellent gaming skills, he had been successful in achieving his objective due to his adversary's contempt for him.

The Vulture had not seen him as a threat from the beginning.

This had worked in Mike's favor, and he had killed the man.

However, once the army got involved, things would change.

An army would adhere to strict rules and not commit the same errors as low-level thugs.
