"If you're here to talk about the news, then I've already had it taken down from the internet," Alaric said, his cold-hearted expression back on his face. "Also, I'll handle our families."

Evelyn's expression softened right after Dianna left the room. She looked at Alaric with a mix of sadness and disappointment, and said, "Alaric, how could you do this to me? You know that I did everything in my power to make you love me."

Even though a wave of guilt washed over Alaric's mind, his expression was still hard. Seeing that Evelyn returned to her gentle self, he calmed his tone down, and he replied, "We can talk about this later. Right now, I have work to do."

Evelyn's anger started to rise again, and she exclaimed, "No, Alaric Pritzker! We are going to talk about this right now." She shouted out, "You know how much humiliation that I will suffer after being abandoned by you! Please tell me, what was my fault?! Why was I not enough?!"
