Avery looked at the man, her mind made up. "I'll do it," she said. "I'll sign the contract."

A smile spread across the man's face. "Thank you," he said, his eyes shining with gratitude. "This will change your life, I promise you. And it will allow me to rest easy, knowing that my legacy is in good hands."

Avery felt a rush of conflicting emotions. On the one hand, she was excited about the opportunities that this deal would bring her. On the other hand, she felt a deep sadness for the man who was offering her so much.

"I'm so grateful for your decision," the man said. "I have one more request, if you're willing. Would you be available to attend an event for me this evening?"

Avery was taken aback. She hadn't expected this, and she wasn't sure what to say. "What kind of event?" she asked.
