Sam’s POV:

“Regardless…” I tried again but bad-mouthed Anna didn’t let me talk. Her mouth has gotten so unbridled after she left my abode. She had forgotten to consider that I harboured and fed her for years.

“Do not spew that out, Dad,” she told me carefully. “It is shameless and if I was in your place, I would be so embarrassed. I might have considered your plea for help but you dared to ask for two hundred million dollars. Tell me if your whole business is worth that amount!”

I said nothing here. I was hurt by all she had said. I had read about Smith’s business on Forbes magazine and I knew he would have two hundred million dollars. Instantly, I regretted my actions. I should not have started that discussion with Anna in the first place.

“I will leave,” I stood up immediately. “But I will never forget this disrespect from you, Anna. Bear in mind that your children would do the same to you!”

“That will only happen if I treated my kids the way you treated me. All you say are pointles
