Her countenance changed as she read the inscription and everyone began to cheer while expensive drinks were popped and sprayed in the air as the music changed into slow romantic blues.

Her eyes trailed from the inscription to Kelvin who was kneeling on the floor, displaying a silver ring in front of her face.

"I told you I was going to get you a more valuable gift," he whispered, looking up into her face.

Her heart began to pound and she shook her head slowly, hearing the cheers and claps from the crowd who were urging her to say yes. Her eyes looked into the crowd searching for Amos and she could see him glued to his seat with his downcast face staring in her direction.

His face pulled into a frown as he looked into her face in dismay.
