~ Megan

I maintained my composure, meeting Andrea’s gaze with a steady one. “Well, Andrea,” I began, emphasizing her name, “I believe Charles and I understand each other, and we’re committed to making our marriage work.”

Andrea raised an eyebrow, clearly not satisfied with my diplomatic response. “But Megan, it is a fact that Charles is quite the charmer. I can assure you that he has been with almost all the upper-class women in Florida, with you being the lowest of us all. How will you handle the constant attention he gets from other women?”

I scoffed internally. Her mask was finally cracking, and my hunch was becoming a reality. Seizing the opportunity, I pressed on, “You seem to know a lot about my husband; don’t tell me you were also among the women he used and dumped?”
