I shouldn’t have spoken too soon. I should have known that Gavrael really had something gruesome planned for me today. I was ecstatic to meet my grandmother, and I wanted us to have a little chat before I started working, but she said I had a lot to do and we would talk later. I don’t know if she was just stalling for time because she knew what I wanted to talk about and she didn’t want to have the conversation, or if she was really telling the truth. There were other females apart from me already up and dressed, ready to work, and I thought that meant she was wrong about me having too much to do. I assumed that the workload would go faster since it was being shared between us all but the bulk of the chores were assigned to me according to Gavrael’s instructions.
