CHAPTER 53: THE GREAT MISUNDERSTANDING

LILITH’S POV:

It all happens so fast while I’m left forgotten.

Kain directed her to his office where they’ve been for hours after she had revealed herself. Never once had his eyes moved towards me to at least send me off with his words.

Weirdly enough, that bothers me and not the fact that he has a bloody sister that decides to show up from nowhere dressed in rags, while her brother is fucking rich.

A lot of things don’t add up or make sense, and I can’t sleep.

Instead, I walk aimlessly around the hallway as maids run about frantically, preparing a room for the lady.

Images of Kain’s expression flashes through my mind when he had heard that she was back and when he had seen her.

It didn’t look like an expression a brother would make upon hearing about his sister being well.

Or a typical brother and sister reunion.

Which only means their relationship is estranged.

I spot Ivan in one of the hallways, instructing a few of the maids to prepare a warm meal of porridge for the visitor.
