Chapter Four

Wiping her tears, she went to the edge of the window of the big castle they were in and sighed. Why was it so hard for her to move on? Why couldn't she just accept that she needed to change? There were no feelings in his eyes and they looked happy.

Runa sighed looking up, she had realized she was lost now. Cursing she decided to check up on Stella, “Stella where are we?”

“I don’t know Runa. Mind linking isn’t working right now.” She had yawned, “I’m going back to sleep.”

Stella was the sleeper. But surprisingly she was strong for a sleeping wolf.

She was about to cry some more but felt someone tap her shoulder which causes her yep and scoot away from the window. There was a little boy with chocolate on his face, just hanging from the window? “Oh my god, what are you doing from there? You scared me.” She said, pulling the little boy from the window and sitting him on the chair.

“My dad is at the party, I’m too young to attend.” He said, licking his lips to get some of the chocolate off.

“Who is your daddy?” She asked with a smile.

“Alpha Ace.” He said.

Alpha Ace was one of the most powerful werewolf group. She can’t believe she stumbled across his son. “What’s your name buddy? My name Runa.”

“R... Reyna?” He tried pronouncing her name adorably but failed. She just nodded. “My name Ryan.” She smiled nodding and taking his hand into her own.

“Well let’s find your daddy, how old are you Ryan?” She asked, she was very good with kids.

Back at home she always took care of the new pups and trained them into being the best.

“I’m six, this many fingers.” He said showing her six fingers. She giggled, patting his fluffy brown hair.

“You’re so smart.”

Smiling at her compliment, he purred. She walked until she found it impossible to find Alpha Ace. Pulling her phone out she noticed she was only on five percent, rolling her eyes she dialed the receptionist downstairs. “Hello, Harlow Castle, how can I help you?”

“Hi I have a little boy and he’s the son of Alpha Ace, if he asks for his kid can you tell them that I’ll wait with his kid at the A-Wing, third floor.” The receptionist was about to say something before her phone cut off, “Damn.” She muttered.

Looking down at Ryan he was snacking some chips and cookies he had in his pockets. At least the little one wouldn’t be hungry, “Ryan, how about we go and sit and wait for your dad?” Ryan nodded and followed her back to her seat.

They sat in silence before Ryan spoke up, “Why was Reyna sad?” He asked.

Sighing she looked, “Reyna misses her mate.” She said truthfully. There was no more denying it.

She missed Damien.

“I miss mommy sometimes too.” He said to try and make her feel better. It only made her smile and pat his head, “I’m brave now so I don’t cry over her.”

“You sure are brave. Sometimes it’s okay to cry though.” Runa said as she simply leaned back and yawned a bit. “My brother hates it when I cry.”

“You have siblings?”

She nodded, “Two brothers and one sister. Their names are Vinnie, Dante, and Molly.”

“Oh, that’s so cool. I have no siblings. But I have so many friends!” Ryan cheered as he lifted his hands up and then smiled widely. “I want siblings... Can Reyna give me a sibling?” He blinked innocently but he had no idea what he was saying.

Runa chuckled, getting ready to speak until she heard fireworks outside. She looked at the window and in aw, gushed at the sight. “Wow.”

“Wow wow! Look Reyna so many fireworks. Look there’s blue and red and green oh and I see pink!!” He screamed excitedly.

He was too adorable and Runa could only laugh as they watched the fireworks. Tiredly she noticed that no one was coming nor did she hear any footsteps. “Weird, Ryan let’s go to go one of the guest rooms right here while we wait for Alpha Ace. I’m sleepy.”

Ryan had smiled as he took his hand into hers. He looked like he was more comfortable with her and she smiled. She took him into the room and Runa laid flat on the bed, exhausted as hell. “Reyna is tired.” He said as he frowned at her. “Please stay awake, don’t go.” He said, almost his words becoming teary.

She frowned, hugging him tightly. “There’s nothing to worry about Ryan, I’m here for you.”

“And you won’t leave?” It was as if he was remembering something that happened a long time ago and that has traumatized him.

She nodded and held pinky out, “I pinky promise you. I won’t leave you.” He giggled, linking his pinky with hers and she smiled.  “Are you hungry?” She asked as she went to the kitchen, there wasn’t much food since this was the guest room but there was some cereal so just made a bowl without milk and sat them on the bed where Ryan was, scrolling through the channels.

“Yes I am, thank you Ru— Runa!” He said feeling accomplished to say her name probably.

She giggled, “You are a smart boy.” Loving her compliments, he blushed and ate his cereal while watching some cartoons and whatnot.

“Hey, Runa?” He said with a sad smile, “I like you, you’re so kind.”

Her heart swoons as she smiled, “I like you too Ryan, you’re such a smart boy. Get some rest.”

Rest is exactly what he did as his eyes fluttered shut.

Whilst Runa just slowly fell fast asleep.
