Chapter 25

The sound of the ECG machine kept resonating in Sarai’s head, she thought back to the day when everything her life turned upside down.

Flashback Starts

Hugo was poisoned because she wanted to prove that she was worthy of being the Luna of the pack, instead she placed the man she loves in harm’s way. Hugo opened his eyes, Sarai’s eyes were red from crying, she held her rosary in her hand as she held Hugo’s hand in her left hand and prayed for his well-being.

Hugo opened his eyes and looked at Sarai who was chanting and praying as she rubbed small circles on the back of his hand, this perfect woman was trying and doing everything she could to fit into his world, a world he is still trying to find his own feet in. Leaving her at the house with no form of protection was his biggest mistake and what if something had happened to her… what if he did not get there in time; he was so weak that a small bit of the wolfsbane rendered him immobile and unconscious; it was Sarai that saved him.
