68 - The Fake Omega III

My decision was the right one. My exit from the carriage was enough to make the other soldiers turn their attention to me.

Jackson immediately hugged my body tightly and hid my face in his chest. I was still wearing a thin cloth face covering, so no one could see my true face if no one removed the covering.

"Look, my wife is sick. Her body is full of wounds, and she's carrying our first baby. Please, let us go. I need to get her to a doctor right now." Jackson begged the soldiers who were still surrounding him.

"Show us your wife's face, and then we'll let you go," one of them replied.

And hearing that, I was shocked beyond belief. This was not what I had planned! Instantly, my body, which had been standing straight and confident, suddenly shook with fear. The soldier still insisted on seeing my face.
