Erza POV
Winter is coming, and I've been looking for a warm coat in my wardrobe, but there's nothing there. All I have is a bunch of old, colorful clothes that my cousin left behind. I hesitated momentarily and then put on a simple hoodie and jeans. I hope it helps me through the harsh winter.
"Hurry up, stupid!" A bitter voice resounded above my head.
I didn't need to look to know it was Erina, my cousin. She stood before me, wearing a new warm coat she had just bought a few days ago.
I should introduce myself a bit. I'm the daughter of a famous Beta, but that's a thing of the past. My parents died in a war 15 years ago, and I was sent to my uncle's house, living with their family to this day.
"Stay away! You are standing in my way, loser.” Erina annoyedly kicked me in the back, and I almost fell into the closet.
As she left, I raised my head and stood up, brushing the dust off my body. I'm used to this, so it's not enough to hurt me anymore. I went downstairs and saw Alfine and Erina sitting at the dining table. Alfine and Erina are twins, but they don't look alike.
Erina has dark eyes and yellow hair, while Alfine has blue eyes and black hair.
I sat down at the table, stomach rumbling, gulping at the sight of Erina and Alfine's hearty morning, and then looked again disappointedly at my portion. I only have one apple, and it's half spoiled.
But my hunger is coming, and I can't wait any longer. I opened my mouth to bite the apple when suddenly a slap like heaven landed on my face. I did somersaults and hit the wall pretty hard, my spine slamming into the ground, causing me to groan in pain.
No one came to help or worry about me, and around me, Erina's amused laughter and Alfine's dispassionate mocking eyes, they thought I deserved it.
“You are so rude; you should at least greet me before starting your meal, ungrateful bastard. I don't understand how it was possible to raise someone like you all these years." Blake's harsh voice resounded; he was my uncle.
It took me a few minutes to adjust the status. Then I put my hands on the floor, forced myself to stand, and whispered with a frown. "I'm sorry; I don't see you."
Blake got even angrier after hearing that; he slammed his hand on the table, causing the table to crack a zigzag line. “Who taught you how to argue with me?”
"Sorry, I'll pay attention next time." I actively admit fault. I know that Blake is a highly hot-tempered person; if I argue back, my results will be even direr than now.
Erina raised her eyes at me, poking her fork into the bacon. “So frustrating! Breakfast was also not good. Why do I have to see this hateful face every morning?"
I bit my lip, wanting to go to the bathroom, but Blake yelled sternly. "Sit down! I haven't finished eating yet, but you dare to go?"
Reluctantly, I had to go back to the dining table and eat my apple. I should have been able to enjoy the sweetness of this apple, but now I can only feel the smell of blood filling my mouth and rushing up my nose after every opening of my mouth.
Blake was so used to this that he looked at me scornfully and then said. “We are going to eat tonight at a restaurant; you take care of yourself.”
I nodded, determined I had to fast tonight. I have no money, and Blake won't leave me any leftovers in the house.
"Talk! You are not mute.” Blake shouted impatiently.
"Yes." I tried to suppress the pain, but as soon as I opened my mouth, the corner of my mouth ripped open, a dull pain running through my body.
After I had eaten my morning, I still had to sit and wait for Blake to finish eating before I was allowed to leave. As soon as he got up, I rushed to the bathroom. I spat out a mouthful of blood and my broken tooth. Next, I rinsed my mouth to get rid of the blood, but the taste lingered on my tongue's tip.
I threw the tooth in the trash; it was no big deal; in a few days, my teeth would grow back; that's the advantage of werewolves; healing is speedy.
Putting my bag on my shoulder, I waited for the car to start before I dared to go out. Every morning Blake would drive Erina and Alfine to school. Although the vehicle has an empty seat, it has never been reserved for me. They would be embarrassed to go to school with someone like me.
Everyone was already in class when I got to school; the schoolyard was empty. I like that; I always choose this time to appear because I wouldn't say I want people's glares and whispers.
It's funny to admit that I am a failure. My father is a Beta; my mother is a mighty warrior. Together, they created many achievements that later generations feared to discuss. But their only daughter, me, doesn't even have a wolf of my own.
The other werewolves, my peers, had their wolf at nine. And I'm 17 years old now. That's why Blake, Erina, and Alfine hate me so much. Blake is a Delta, and he's as brave as anyone; he's one of the strongest of the pack. Erina and Alfine also inherited the warrior blood from him; they can transform early and are extremely powerful.
I sighed and crept into the classroom. I can only take theory sessions, but I have to sit back in class when they are training. Like now, everyone has gathered in the school's typical house. I looked in the direction everyone was training; I wished I could be like them. But that was just a dream.
The pain all over my body makes me tired; I put my hands under my head and lie on the table. Drowsiness quickly swallowed me, and I laughed softly; I only felt relieved and happy when I slept.
I had a dream; I saw myself standing in a grassy field. I've got my wolf; it has pure white fur and beautiful long, curly hair. I strode across the meadow, the reeds brushing across my face, brushing against my nose. After being tired, I went to the stream bank, took a dip below, and climbed onto the grass to enjoy the afternoon's cool breeze. Suddenly it was dark, and I heard another wolf growl. I feel danger and its power. I stood up, took a fighting stance, and got ready to pounce on the enemy. A black wolf appeared before me in the thick of the night. I thought it was a male wolf, and he was twice my size. He has jet-black fur; each hair is soft and smooth, which makes me want to get close to him and run my hand through it. The black wolf looked at me, then slowly walked in front of me as if he didn't intend to attack me but wanted to befriend me. “Erza, Erza…” Suddenly I heard someone calling me; that low voice pulled me out of my dream. I was a little annoyed; I almost got a
It's almost the end of the week, and I've finally made my own decision. I'm going to the party, but I don't have the confidence to become Gray's mate and succeed Luna with just a sudden request from Gray.I haven't seen Blake, Erina, or Alfine all day today. Little did I know that they were busy preparing for Gray's party. And Erina always aspires to be Gray's mate; she leaves home early and goes to get a full-body beauty.Waiting until the party started, I changed my clothes and walked there.I was overwhelmed away by the splendor and magnificence of this place. I cautiously stepped inside; I saw the highly prominent Gray standing in the middle of his group of friends. In that group were both Alfine and Erina; they were talking to each other quite comfortably. And now Erina was like a koala bear clutching Gray's arm, and he didn't intend to let go, his expression a little bit of enjoyment.Struggling for a while, I found an empty seat to sit down and avoid everyone's eyes; I was afra
I slept very well last night because I was so tired; I don't know if Erina returned last night. As usual, I changed and put on my bag, getting ready for school. I know I will be the center of ridicule today because perhaps last night's rumors were spread. But I don't know; I don't have the opportunity to go to school anymore.I walked downstairs and saw Blake and Alpha Nathan sitting on the sofa; the atmosphere was tense like they were discussing something serious, making me not dare to breathe.I was careful to go very quietly, and as I passed Alpha Nathan, I bowed to him and Blake. But Blake quickly called me back.“I have something to tell you; sit down, Erza.” Alpha Nathan looked at me solemnly. My stupid mouth almost asked why; thankfully, I didn't. Because Alpha's orders are supreme, and we have no right to ask silly questions. I sat down, and my whole body twitched at Blake's following sentence. “Get your things ready and go to Black Moon today.”"What?" I was in shock. My lous
Alpha Nathan is prudent; he drove me to the boundary, then stopped. He looked at me with some sympathy. "Please live well."I smiled involuntarily when I heard his warm voice; I nodded confidently. "That's for sure."A cold wind blew over me as I stepped down, making me shiver."You're Erza, aren't you?" On the other side of the boundary, a man slowly approached.I hide my fear by not looking him in the eye, and I nod. "Um."“Please step over here and come with me. Alpha doesn't like to wait, so please hurry up." The man said.“Alpha waiting for me?” I asked suspiciously. But the other man didn't care about my question; he just needed one hand to grab me up and throw me into the car with a force that was not light.I swallowed, said. “My suitcase still hasn't been taken...”“Alpha doesn't like any of the other packs appearing here. We will provide everything you need to come to the Black Moon center.” The man coldly replied.I silently and tacitly agreed; I have no regrets about those
Ryan is increasingly pressing on me. In the dark, I can still clearly feel his fiery eyes never leaving me.Suddenly Ryan pressed me against the wall, his hands on either side to stop me from moving, forcing me to face him.His hot breath brushed against my neck as he spoke. "Look at me, I don't like my mate hiding, and she's a coward."“Alpha Ryan, I think you are mistaken.” I opened my mouth with difficulty; I heard my voice trembling. "I'm not your mate; we don't match."Ryan doesn't answer me quickly, his brow furrowed with interest. “How do you know I'm joking? Are you too cynical?”For some reason, maybe I'm sensitive, but after I heard that statement, I felt very uncomfortable. Just a few days ago, Gray just tricked me and made fun of everyone. Then today, Ryan continues to joke with me; he sees me as a stupid girl. And it seems that everywhere I see the same people, they constantly see me as their toy.But I have my dignity and pride. I didn't know where to get my courage; I r
Ryan POV I dived to hug Erza in my heart; she lost consciousness leaning her body against mine. The first time I came in contact with a female wolf at this close range, she was so soft that the wolf inside me growled passionately. But that's not my concern right now, I know Erza has inhaled many toxic fumes, and my mate will probably die from it. Thinking that the wolf inside me got angry, and it roared. “Stupid, why design these stupid things in your own house?” I am equally angry; I also want to ask my father, who has made secret rooms and traps all over the house. That's why I don't allow anyone to come in here, either because I don't like other people invading my privacy or I don't want them to die. Behind me, I heard pounding footsteps, and Evelyn looked at me in shock. “Alpha, what happened to her?” I regained my composure and ordered Evelyn. "Don't ask anymore; call the doctor quickly." I know that in times like these, the first thing I need is calm; that's what I've been t
I stood by and watched the doctor's every move. I want to make sure he won't hurt my mate. At dusk, the sky outside was dark. It's been six hours, and Erza still hasn't woken up, and I frantically paced back and forth, looking at her lifeless face. As I became increasingly impatient, I glared at the doctor, making him shiver. With Evelyn's reminder, I knew I was unintentionally putting pressure on the doctor, so I voluntarily went out. At the door, I ran into Max. Rarely do I see another glint of emotion in his eyes. There was something doubtful and hesitating as if he wanted to say something. Finally, Max still couldn't help but tell me. "Alpha, she's not fit to be Luna. She doesn't have a wolf and will be strongly opposed by everyone." "Now I can't even find my mate? I need to consult others about choosing Luna?" I narrow my eyes to reveal a dangerous look, to prove that I am willing to fight to protect my mate. "But Alpha, she's..." Max stepped forward, trying to make it clea
Erza POV I have had a long sleep since I arrived at the new pack. I had a strange dream; I met close people I hadn't seen in a long time, like my parents. They stood in the distance, looking at me in warrior clothes. There was still some blood on my mother's body; I don't know if it was her or the enemy's blood. For many years lived in the ridicule and contempt of others. I heard my mother's voice of comfort and recognition. I listened to her sobbing, blaming herself for not being able to take good care of me. She also doesn't want me to become a famous hero; She hopes I can grow up happy and healthy. But it seemed that even that simple wish of my mother could not be fulfilled. Even though I never wanted to, trouble kept coming to me. It messed up my life like a bunch of cotton candy. After a while, my mother's voice and the image blurred in my vision, I tried to chase her, but she disappeared into the night. I called her name and went to find her. Through a very long road, I almos
