Chapter Eighty - Eight

AMELIA'S POV

The drive back to the Moon Castle happened with me in such a haze. I couldn't even remember actually driving, but I do know that somehow, one way or the other, I did drive back to the Moon Castle. All through the drive, I kept thinking about the news Gabrielle had just broken to me. It was unbelievable. My darling, darling, darling little baby had been murdered. My son has been poisoned.

I got to the Moon Castle before dawn. I parked the vehicle across the lawn and sat in silence in it, watching the day break and the sunrise. I wondered who would do it. Who would hurt a little boy? Who would hurt a baby? Who would do something so unthinkable?

Then I thought about how much pain my baby must have felt before he passed. My precious little baby. He was just a baby and he'd met his end in such a terrible, terrible way. It was unfair.
