Chapter Ninety

AMELIA'S POV

I watched the days turn into weeks as I tried to crack the case of who murdered my baby. I still hadn't told Max or anyone else and it was eating me up. It felt like the weight of what I knew was a little worm in my stomach that was legitly eating me up. However, I was lost on who to tell. Who would understand and not fully criticize me and blame me for being such a bad and negligent woman and mother.

So, I kept it bottled in and carried on like everything was normal. Everyone felt relieved that I'd moved on from the passing of Xavier. I noticed the eagerness in the face of the maids and in that of my family too. However, it was all a charade. When I was in the corner of my room, all alone, my mind wandered to Xavier and who could have possibly killed him.

This worm eating me up on the inside began to show on the outside too. I began to have bouts of dizziness and lightheadedness. Even through it all, I always tried to appear brave and strong before anyone.
