Chapter Seventy - Seven

AMELIA’S POV

Yes, the ride to my homeland was long. It felt like we’d never get out of the car. If felt like it would never end because we just kept going on and on and on. I had to resist every urge to keep asking my parents, “Are we there yet?”

When the car did stop, Dad got off first and then proceeded to help Mum and then me. As my feet hit the ground, I heard a delightful scream and looked up to see Jaime running towards me. There was a neat row of children lined up to face one another with a flower in their hands, but I couldn’t even see them properly as I just concentrated on catching Jaime.

“Aunty Amelia!” she hugged me tightly.

I bent to her level, reveling in her hugs. “My sweet Jaime. I missed you.”

“I missed you too. I saw you at your wedding. You were looking like a princess.”

My Dad cleared his throat, “I’m sorry to interrupt this chitchat. But we have to get into the house and Amelia,” I looked up at my Dad. “There is a special parade for you.”

“Wait what? For me?”
