Chapter 48

The weather outside was cool and crisp, with a light drizzle that added to the ambiance of the night. I could see the soft glow of the string lights illuminating the pathway leading up to the entrance of the venue, and the sound of raindrops tapping against the windows provided a soothing background noise.

As I made my way to the dance floor, my dress rustled softly against my legs, the intricate lace detailing and flowy layers adding to the ethereal effect of my outfit. I felt a twinge of self-consciousness as I saw some of the other girls in their sleek, fitted dresses, but I pushed the thought aside and reminded myself that I looked beautiful in my own unique way.

As we made our way to our table, I could feel the eyes of everyone in the room on me. I blushed at the attention, feeling both nervous and exhilarated all at once. But my nerves were quickly calmed as the principal, Mr. Derick, approached us.
