Bailey's POV

The prom was in full swing as Miguel and I danced the night away. The DJ was playing my favorite songs, and the atmosphere was electric. I felt the excitement building inside me as the night progressed. This night had to be my night, everything seemed to be perfect. It was like the DJ had me in mind when he picked out the playlist for the party. I was so happy that I went with Miguel. The smile on his face was dashing, so dashing that it kind of made me nervous.

Suddenly, the waiters appeared with trays of drinks, and I grabbed a glass of a pink cocktail and downed it in gulps to help calm my nerves.

"Are you okay Bailey? You look nervous."

"No. I'm totally great."

I lied terribly. I was totally nervous.

I had a few sips and afterwards, I began to feel dizzy. Maybe I had drunk it too fast. I however, brushed it off as nerves and continued dancing with Miguel. I enjoyed the feel of his hands around my waist as the music blared loud through the speakers. But then,

…18? (Maybe that last one isn’t as confusing as it is irritating.) I feel like I’m still missing big pieces. Also, why does Miguel tell the story as though he rescued her and took her home, but her telling involves them going back to prom?

I’m getting more and more confused… Jennie has constantly bullied her, but Miguel says they both trusted her? She has bodyguards, but they didn’t step in to save her? Grey is her mate, and he’s waited 17 years, but now he’s nowhere to be found and is with another woman on the heels of her turning..
