Chapter 5

Theda POV

As I was led down the hallway that I felt the Alpha had emerged from, so many things ran in my head.

I'm now in a new pack.

I have a new alpha.

I am on my own, ALONE.

Those things, I wasn't yet ready to sink down my mind. But one thing was sure, there was a bit of happiness lurching inside me. Why? I was finally out of the reach of my uncompassionate stepfather, Julian.

Yes, I had always wanted to leave the fire moon pack, my original pack, ever since my father died two years ago. It's been a lot of hell and torment for me and I had prayed every night for my miseries to come to an end.

What did my mother or brother, and my father do wrong to make us receive such torments after his passing? None, I'm certain. It was probably my said- cursed fate.

Though ever since I was twelve years old, I had always been different and an irregular person, unlike the others. I met some bunch of Alphas' young daughters then and they seemed more dominating than me.

Then my good father, who had never hidden anything from me had told me that I was an omega, not an entirely pure blood Omega, and he had made me feel so assured that I wouldn't wallow in the mire as long as he was around.

But I should have thought about it deeply about his demise. I felt my Dad was immortal and took his promise that he was never going to leave me.

Our beautiful lives had shrunk since my dad's death, leaving me to stand up for my family.

I had swallowed all the insults but hadn't let either my Mom or brother face the wrath of Julian.

Yeah, I was like a shield to them and now I somehow felt guilty. If I hadn't secretly wished to be away from the pack, then I guess goddess Selene wouldn't have had me sold. She rescued me from one's clutches and I am sure she's left me in another's clutches.

Now, I have two ugly titles. I'm an omega and a slave of a seemingly ruthless Alpha. Will I survive? I don't know but I will fight to survive. I need to live on and as long as I can until I have saved my Mom and brother from the evil hands of Julian.

"This is the room you'll be saying," one of the voices of the Gamma jolted me from my thoughts and I became aware of my environment.

I looked around the room and suppressed my sigh. I was turned around and the chains were unlocked, freeing my tender hands.

I salivated as I shifted my eyes to a plate of food a man brought in and handed over to the Gamma who was Kyle.

"Hey, Kyle, you want to give her food?" The other Gamma asked with a disappointed tone.

"She looks tired and hungry. I bet she hasn't eaten for days. Hey, eat this."

"Thank you," I managed to say, not lifting my head.

"Well, I think that's a bit thoughtful of you. Anyway, she needs to have a little strength to be able to face alpha Tyler tomorrow," the other Gamma said with a ridiculing voice and left, laughing softly.

"Hey, eat and sleep. Wake up early tomorrow and be ready to meet the alpha, okay?"

It's Theda, I wanted to correct him. No, I wasn't that bold-faced. It was actually my wolf, Tanya. But I resisted her temptation this time and nodded Instead.

"Okay."

I slowly raised my head when I heard the door being closed. I heard the noise from the probably huge bolt being locked from the outside and spun to stare at the room again.

It was a bit smaller than my actual room in my former packhouse. Gosh, Julian already took us out of the packhouse a week after my father's death, but this room forced me to remember what that room looked like.

As I gently sat on the comfortable bed, I felt really saved, but recalling my mother's words, I got nervous and scared.

She had suggested I ran away because I was bought by a deadly Alpha. I didn't have much time to think much about what she said.

The sound of my stomach grumbling made me realize I had not eaten for days, and grabbing the food, let out a loud 'thank you' inside me. I guess she's more appreciative now upon realizing I can pass out anytime if I don't have a spoon of the food.

I ate at a fast-like pace and dropped the plate by the bed when I was done. I thought this might be my last meal and I dreaded it.

I climbed on the bed after inhaling and tried forcing myself to sleep. I couldn't feel really at peace as I wondered how my Mom and brother, Axel would be doing now.

My Mom would probably be crying her eyes out and must have received a yell from Julian after trying to ask him to get me back.

Axel, for a guess, my poor brother would be sulking, maybe telling his wolf how empty he feels now that I'm not around and how worthless he was for being incapable to save me from being taken away.

I pushed the thoughts of my family aside, being a bit selfish, and pondered more about what the next day had in store for me.

Earlier, I wasn't able to look up into the eyes of my new alpha but I'm sure tomorrow, nothing would hold me back from staring into his eyes and swearing allegiance to him.

Upon hearing his voice, and feeling his tyrannizing aura earlier, I felt it would be terrific tomorrow.

Still, I managed to forget about my life for a few seconds and drifted to sleep.

A thunderous knock ran on the door, and the noise pierced through my ears, forcing me to flick my eyes open.

"Hey, aren't you up yet?!"

The groan of a recognized voice forced me to jerk up from my bed when I quickly realized that it was already morning.

I can't believe I had ignored the chirpings of the birds in the morning and gave in to my flesh to continue sleeping.

The night had passed quickly. I felt agitated. I jumped out of my bed and arranged my hair with my hands before trying to gather compulsion and rushed to the door with shaking feet.

The door was quickly opened and I saw the Gamma, Kyle. He gave me a stinky look and growled mildly.

"You just woke up. I had dropped by twice and knocked but you were still asleep, right?"

I nodded. "I…am sorry," I mouthed out.

"Save it for the Alpha, that's if he would hear you out and pardon you."

He led me to a room which was probably an office. A huge, furnished room.

The Gamma disappeared from my side.

"You're late," a mild grumpy voice said, making me flick a stare at the figure by the window. He turned, and getting a glimpse of his face, I was able to recognize him. He was the Beta. "Your first meeting with the Alpha and you're late?"

I didn't want to say anything to justify myself because it would be stupid of me, I think. Rather, I slipped into thoughts of what punishment I might receive now.

"I detest those who disobey me." A strong grumble made my whole body vibrate and someone came and stood in front of me.

I knew who it was. The Alpha. Alpha Tyler.

"I don't like lateness," he whispered in a toxic-like voice before going over to his seat.

"Sit down."

I ignored his words and kept my feet stuck to the floor until he said again.

"Sit when I say you should." He ordered, pushing me to go and take the seat across him, ignoring his Beta giving me a strange look.

"What's your name?"

"Theda. Theda Miles." I answered without hesitation. Not hearing a word from him again, I slowly lifted my head to meet his upturned brown hazel eyes gazing at me.

I blinked nervously, fiddling with the hem of my gown. He seemed a bit lost in thoughts for the next three seconds.

"Now, I am your new alpha. Alpha Tyler. You'll pledge your allegiance to me but now, you'll be taken to where you'll stay onwards."

I looked down again, anticipating and dreading. I have heard of where slaves are kept to live in a pack and I didn't want to think much about it.

"You'll stay at the…Omegas quarters…"

"What?" Blake interjected, I glanced above my shoulder and saw a flicker of what seemed like a shock on his face.

"Girl, look at me when I'm talking," Alpha Tyler ordered.

I looked up but couldn't maintain eye contact with him.

Like he summoned his Gamma, Kyle through the mind link, he walked in.

"Take her to the Omegas quarters."

"Yes, alpha Tyler." Kyle held my arm, making me stand up and walk me out.

My cheeks heated up as I felt the alpha was staring at me but I couldn't dare glance back.

We got to the Omegas quarters which was a five minutes walk from the packhouse.

"Zoey, she'll be living here onwards," Kyle said, handing me over to a woman who appeared at the entrance of the quarter.

She looked like a woman in her late 30s.

She spun me and shook her head in a displeasing manner.

"Girl, you look fragile. I doubt you'll last a week," she said, almost in a whisper as her eyes kept scanning me.

Her words had sent shivers running down my spine. Was my Mom right about what she said? Should I have run away quickly instead of coming here?

"But, I'm curious. Not really though, just want to confirm. You're a slave, right?"

I couldn't bring myself to answer her question. If I admitted I was, I know my sufferings here will be doubled.

Back in Fire moon pack, an omega slave is treated with the most contempt and haunted every minute.
