9. The Exchange

Jocelyn and Ethan glared. The same thought flashed through their heads.

Shello did not recognize Satya's face. Shello only knew his name, not his face.

And it was evident from the way Shello looked at Satya. Shello was really relieved. Or rather, incredibly relieved. It was as if all this time, Shello had been lost and felt surrounded by strangers until she finally met her family. Damn, that person wasn't even her family!

Shello gently stroked the man's hand, then said, "Get well soon, okay, Satya? I don't know how I would be without you. I need you."

And it was those words that made Jocelyn stop forcing herself to think about doing whatever was best for Shello right now. There was an answer. Right in front of her.

"Nurse, please let me know as soon as Satya wakes up, okay?" Shello ordered, which the nurse immediately agreed to. Shello then let go of Satya's hand and nodded at the nurse, allowing the nurse to take her back to her room.
