CHAPTER 23. ANTIDOTE

"I don't mean to hide this from you, but it would be better if you didn't know what I do." Alex still chose to remain silent. "You can ask me anything except that one thing, Angelina," he continued.

"I don't have any questions right now. That's all I want to ask but if you're not willing to answer that's fine, after all, it's your right to tell me or not." Angelina replied.

Alex sighed heavily. She felt troubled to deal with this girl in front of her.

The girl did say that it was fine that she didn't get an answer to her question, but in that sentence, she implied that she demanded an answer.

"Alright, I give up. Maybe it's time I told you the truth. If you leave me after I tell you the truth then it's my bad luck," Alex said resignedly.

"Why would you say that? Is having a job so bad? Thief, robber, murderer, or-?"

"Yes," Alex cut in quickly.

Alex stared at Angelina intently, as if hypnotizing the girl into not taking her eyes off her.

"What do you mean by yes, Alex?" asked Angelina
