Julia POV

These chocolate brown eyes don’t hold any warmth in them, which I’ve seen that night. There’s something bloodthirsty in them that shudders me inside out. His face is devoid of any emotion. His upper body is bare and only wrapped in a bandage, but I didn’t see any blood in the front; it may be on his back. His gray trousers were hanging low. I could see his hip bone.

My brain is telling me that I should run, but it feels like my feet are frozen on the spot. My heart skips a beat, my breathing turns shallow, and my palms grow sweaty. No matter how many times I see him; he always pulls the same reaction out of me. Fear. And excitement. His predatory gaze makes me feel so many emotions, but fear is the most powerful of them all. Romeo took a step forward, and the man instantly stepped in front of me, shielding me like he would do something worse to me.
