Chapter One - Immortals

I AM AN IMMORTAL.

What we are?

We are a divine race.

The children of the Evermore.

The Evermore are the gods who rule the universe.

They overlook everything and maintain harmony between the whole universe.

They live in a place above everything.

I can't say since when they started to exist, as there are no records on that, but I believe the right answer would be "they have been around forever".

The only thing that is known is that the Evermore are the children of the "Supreme Being", the patriarch of the universe, the one who created and named each star in the galaxies.

It is said, that he created them because he was lonely.

None of us know where he is now, but we do know that he is watching us from somewhere with a beautiful view.

Calling him my grandfather would not be wrong, since he is the father of the Evermores, and the Evermores are our parents.

We, Immortals, are not a very populous race, as it is difficult for the Evermore to have children.

Therefore, it is difficult for us to have children with each other.

And for that very reason, the Evermore's leader, Brayanlynn (aka my dear father), came up with a solution fifteen millennia ago.

What solution?

Strictly train each Immortal until they reach the age of 20 (in our timeline).

Then send them to the reality corresponding to each Immortal's destiny book.

Alone.

Without any external help.

Only with their knowledge about this reality and the main story of their respective book of destiny.

In an attempt to correct the story in the way we deem correct and to find our soul partner in the end.

The soul partner of each Immortal is their ultimate goal when being thrown into this new reality.

We don't have a clue about that person, but if we correct the story in the right way, finding him is our final prize.

This is the person who will return with us to our land, earn the blessing of the Evermore, and become an Immortal through a secret divine ritual only known by Brayanlynn.

When we turn 20 and are sent to the reality of our books of destiny, we arrive in such reality as a shooting star that fell from the sky, but in the form of a baby.

Still containing the nature and powerful endurance of an Immortal, looking like our natural appearance, with all our memories, and our book of destiny.

But of course, only we can see the real content which is in our natural, ancient, and divine language.

And it is magically connected to our spirit, so there is no way to lose it or someone to steal it.

What is our destiny book?

Well... the book of destiny is something unique and precious for every single Immortal.

According to my father, these books were a gift from the Supreme Being to his grandchildren.

In the pavilion of the Evermore temple, there is a gigantic and magical library, called "The Library of Destiny".

That library contains thousands of books.

These books are known as "Books of Destiny", since each Immortal that is born, a book lights up and omnisciently connects itself to this child's life thread.

We study the reality of our destiny book since we're kids, we study about every single thing.

The world, the races, the cultures, the kingdoms, the history of each place, the geography, and the science.

Their heroes, their laws, their personalities, the food they eat, the martial arts they practice, and everything about every single character.

If this reality contains magic, we study everything about it.

We study their folklore, their philosophy, their etiquette, and the new and ancient languages.

The way to dress, the way to dance, the way to survive alone, and even the way the stars are positioned in the sky.

There are exceptions among our race, of course.

This is when two Immortals fell in love with each other.

But such things are predetermined since the destinies of such are interconnected since they are born and therefore they do not even receive the book of destiny.

Those people are called "The Chosen Immortals".

And because they are treated differently and in a more special way than we are, we grew up under a lot of pressure.

Knowing that just being born again to have a chance in a million to be like them.

And that pressure only increases if you're the daughter of the Evermore leader, the younger sister of two of the few Chosen Immortal.

That's my case.

I'm not like my brothers, Zachariah and Mordecai, the precious twins of Brayanlynn.

They, yes, are two of the ten Chosen Immortals since they are only five couples.

The immortals with the greatest power and influence among us all.

So my mother, Arabella, was deeply disappointed when I was born and a brilliant book of destiny in red and gold appeared beside me.

My father always wanted to have a daughter with my mother, so he was not as sad as her, who neglected me my whole life, but he was also not very happy that I was not a Chosen Immortal like my brothers.

And so, for everything to work out for me, he fought with my mother a few times and made me grow up and have a more rigorous education than usual, making me train and study twice as hard as everyone else.

But that didn't change my mother's and my brothers' view of me, nor did it diminish the jokes that the other Evermore made about me.

I discover sooner than anyone that life wasn't as easy for me as it was for everybody else.

I was raised by my father's daughter with his cousin, my older half-sister, Ellie.

She didn't love me, but at least she carried about me more than my own mother.

She followed dad's rules about how to raise me, and her husband, Zayd, the one she brought with her from her book of destiny's reality, was a king as well as a strong warrior with fire magic.

He was gentle with me, way more than Ellie, so he is like a father to me, but Ellie always fought with him when she saw him being gentle with me, saying that if father discovered this he would be pissed, that I needed to train and not to be spoiled.

My book of destiny is blood-red with golden details, black pages with the letters in white and the title is my name, "Evie", like every other book of destiny.

It's the story of a cold-hearted crown prince called Davey Hadassah with a dark past and the sweet-hearted Grand Duke's daughter called Lexie White with a lovely family and a good childhood.

A differential thing about my book of destiny and the books of destiny' of other Immortals, it's the time-skip of thirteen years from when they have twelve~thirteen years to when they have twenty-five.

I thought about this fact for a really long time, but I could never think about what am I suppose to do in those thirteen years.

And then, my 20th birthday arrived bringing with him the day of my departure into Davey and Lexie's reality.
