Chapter Two - Another Reality

I met with my father right after I woke up, he was in a bad mood after a fight with mom, but she was nowhere to be seen.

Sister Ellie and Zayd also came to say goodbye to me.

I was only using a light pink spring dress with a white sandal and my book of destiny in hand.

"This day has finally arrived."

Dad said with a serious gaze.

I can't help but agree with him.

I always dreamed of the day I would go far away from everyone here.

"Did you train well?"

"Did you really waited 20 years to ask me this? If you were a good father, you would know the answer."

Ah, I always wanted to say this to him, now I can.

"Everything I did was to see you happy."

I won't hear this.

"My ass. You neglected me, just like mom. I wish you never had me to begin with."

You won't fool me again with those excuses, dad.

"But I'm happy because now, I'll be far away from all of you who treat me like a cow for slaughter."

He looked at me with a sad gaze, but I don't care anymore.

It's the truth, deal with it.

"Evie-"

"She isn't wrong, dad."

Ellie agreed with me.

Of course, I'm not wrong.

"I sincerely believe that she must have counted the days until today to say this to you. Since you, her mother, and the twins ignored her all these twenty years. You, much less than them, but still."

Haha... and I did count the days.

"I myself acknowledge that I was not a good person nor caring with, always faithfully following his rules to create her until today. Since you and Arabella were supposed to raise her, you are her parents, I am only the half-sister."

I am honestly surprised to see her telling this to him because she is always polite and kind of afraid when talking to dad.

"But anyway, Evie, I hope everything works out for you down there. I will be waiting up here with Zayd, the day when you will come back to us with my brother in law."

Hear this warmed my heart, I never thought Ellie thought that way.

Dad didn't say anything for a while after that.

"Ellie's right, Evie, we'll be waiting for you here, so live every day like it was your last one, and try to make that reality better while you are there. You can do everything you want, just stay strong and be yourself."

That's why I love Zayd and why he's like a father to me.

Brayanlynn should have some classes with him.

"Thank you, Zayd, I will."

I turned to meet my father's gaze and he looked really sad.

But I couldn't hold my tongue.

"See? That's what you should have said to me if you were a good father."

I turned to face my sister and Zayd again, and both looked kinda concerned.

"Until we meet again."

And with that, I entered the portal.

※※※

When I opened my eyes, I found myself looking at a starry sky but the wind around me wasn't cold, it was hot like hell.

And according to what I'd studied, there's only one place with this weather in Danika, and it's the Desert of Tywod.

Why did I've to fall right into this place?

Goddamn father, he must have controlled where I would fall just because I was rude to him.

Fuck.

I look at my hands and I only saw baby hands.

I almost forgot that when I fell in Danika, I already fell here as a baby.

But right now I can't think of anything but how thirsty I am.

I need water... but the problem is that I'm a baby now and I can't see anyone near me.

I'll kill my father when I see him again after some decades, of course, he would do this to me because he was mad.

How such a childish evermore could be their leader?

After a long time, I heard a sound that looked like someone running in my direction.

Finally.

When the person was close enough so I could see his face, I saw a man in his late twenties with straight blood-red hair, amber eyes, pale skin, tall, and with a strong and muscular body.

He smiled at me with his white teeth and came closer.

"Are you the one who fell from the sky like a shooting star, little one? Of course, you can't talk yet and this was an obvious question. You must be thirsty, let me get you out of here."

He carefully held me in his arms and took my book, putting it inside his bag, then he gave me a bottle with cold water... too cold to me normal.

I look at his face with a curious gaze and he, surprisingly, understood me.

"I have ice magic. I saw the name Evie in the book that was with you, I'm assuming that it's your name."

I smiled as a yes.

"So, I think I'm right. It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Eirwen Hadassah."

W-wait... what did he just say it was his name?

Eirwen Hadassah?

Like the emperor of the Asten Empire?

Davey's father?

But... if I think about it, he said he has ice magic, and Eirwen also has ice magic.

Also, his appearance match Eirwen's.

But something must be wrong.

Why did I already meet the male lead's father?

Okay, I must calm down.

"You look surprised."

Of course, I do, and with a good reason.

"But right now, we must get out of this place, it's way too dangerous."

Oh, I know that very well.

I counted the seconds to occupy my mind and after exactly three hours and a half, we found a village and then we went to an inn.

He ordered a room with a baby bed and hot soup for dinner.

"I think you're almost one year old."

According to what Ellie once told me, it takes eight months to reach the reality of the destination book, which means that it has been eight months since I left until today when I arrived in Danika.

So I am mentally twenty years and eight months, and physically eight months old right now.

"It's been a year and seven months that I'm away from home since I was away on a journey which only I could go."

I don't remember this in the book, has my presence here already change something?

"You see, my older sister was an oracle, and she saw a prophecy right before her death, something that only I could truly understand, and now, I finally found you."

W-wait, what?

What is this supposed to mean?

Was he looking for me?

Why?

What is happening here?

"If what the legends my father told me, before passing the crown to me, are really true, I think you're understanding everything I'm saying."

Yes, I am, but you aren't supposed to be aware of this fact.

And what crazy legend did your father told you?

This must be something that happened because of my existence here.

Changes were expected, of course, but I didn't think it was going to happen so soon.

"My father told me something that only the emperor can know about it, so he can prepare himself if it happens. That's why he told only me, once I was the crown prince, just like his father did. And his father before him."

Oh, come on, stop the suspense, and tell me already.

"It's about a divine race."

Wha-what?

How is this even possible?

How can this person know about this?
