Chapter Seven - A New Perspective, Part II

THE DAY AFTER MY ENCOUNTER WITH SIR GREGORY AT THE LIBRARY, I started crawling. Well, I start crawling in front of them.

But the problem was that I started crawling perfectly, once I was doing this every night for two months straight, my body was already used to it.

Rae and the butler were shocked as hell, but Sir Gregory only laughed and feigned surprise, that bastard-

["So, you was afraid that I would tell them that you were already crawling?"]

["No, you idiot. It's just that once you saw me, it was kinda the motive I was waiting for to show Rae that I'm already crawling."]

["If that's the case, you're welcome!"]

I rolled my eyes and he laughed.

"Are you bored, Princess?"

Rae asked with kind eyes and my heart melted.

I wish I had this when I was a real baby... someone that acted as a mother to me.

"The princess is so smart to her age, isn't she?"

Of course, I am, Georgie ~ that's the butler's name.

"She's a genius. I saw her reading a book I'd left in her bed when I wasn't looking."

Both I and Sir Gregory look at her surprised.

"Reading? Literally reading?"

Georgie asked startle.

["Didn't you notice when this happened?"]

I stared at Sir Gregory, but I didn't have an answer.

"Yes. Her lips even whispered the words briefly, I was so shocked that my mind went blank."

["That explains why I didn't notice her."]

["It makes sense. But why did you do that? I thought you only read things in the library, and that was why you was crawling in secret and in the middle of the night."]

["Believe in me- that was literally, the only time this happened."]

["You must be very unlucky, then."]

["Oh, shut up, you idiot."]

["Well, that's a good side. Now you won't have to go crawling in secret and in the middle of the night into the library."]

["It's not so simple. She only brings childish books when she goes to my room."]

["Mm-hmm- as if you were a grown-up to read other things."]

Is he mocking me?

This bastard...

"Do we send a letter to the Emperor about it? She's going to make one year in two weeks, but she's already crawling perfectly, reading, and almost talking."

Rae asks looking at Sir Gregory and Georgie.

["What do you think? Do we send a letter to him about it?"]

["No! If you do this, he will try to come here. And he must spend time with his children and women. I don't wanna be killed by them so soon."]

He held his laughter and I rolled my eyes again.

"I don't think it's the wiser choice."

He said out loud.

"No?"

Both Rae and Georgie asked together.

"No! He's spending time with his children and woman. Nor his woman or his children know about Evie. If he knew this, he would try to come here, which would hurry things as Evie's meeting with them. Both of us know what the Empress and the Queens would try to do with this kid. And I believe I'm not the only one who doesn't want this kid to be the victim of attempts at her life so soon."

["If I didn't know better, I would think you care about me."]

"You are right!"

Rae said with a very worried gaze.

[I don't want that snake being close to this precious kid at all. Neither their children. And if I thought about it, if they knew she's a genius, they would be very envious. What I don't want to happen, as it would cause a lot of unfortunate situations for Evie. It would be best to keep it a secret for the time being.]

"So let's keep this between us."

She said firmly and both she and Sir Gregory stared at Georgie.

[Oh, come on, you two. I won't tell them anything. I liked the kid. And I absolutely despise the Empress and the Queens.]

Good to know.

"Don't worry, I'll keep this as a secret between us."

Sir Gregory looked at me as if asking me to be sure about Georgie.

["He's clean. He won't tell, be at ease. He clearly likes me and hates the Empress and the Queens."]

"Okay, I believe in you. let's just keep it that way and take care of Evie."

["Can I tell them?"]

["Tell them? What?"]

["If they know that you can talk like this, it would be good for you, right?"]

["It would be dangerous. That's what it would be. If anyone besides them starts knowing about this..."]

["They're already keeping in secret the fact that you are reading and crawling when you aren't even one year old- besides, you've been reading their minds for a long time now, you should know if they're trustworthy or not."]

["Indeed, they are. But it would mean I'll have to talk with them, and this makes me tired."]

He burst into laughter and Rae and Georgie look at him as if he was crazy.

["I'll pretend I didn't hear that, Evie."]

["You idiot."]

["Can I tell them or not?"]

["Okay."]

"Are you okay, Sir Gregory? You're acting strange today!"

Georgie pointed and Rae nodded in agreement.

"Well, it's just that I've discovered something incredible about our little princess here."

"More?"

He laughed at Georgie's reaction and I smiled.

"I'll only tell you if you promise that this will be our secret. You must promise you won't tell anyone, absolutely anyone about this. Or the princess's safety will be in the line."

Kinda dramatic but effective.

And to my surprise, Rae and Georgie's thought was literally the same.

[I'm already keeping that secret, one more won't make difference. I won't tell anyone, anyway.]

I feel like my heart is warm.

That's how you feel when you have trustworthy people at your side?

"We promise!"

They said together.

"Evie is... a telepath."

When Rae fell, Georgie caught her in his arms, but both fell on the ground together.

He held her who was shocked.

"Are you saying that she's able to read minds and talk with people telepathically?"

Georgie's more composed than I thought he would be.

["Yes!"]

I finally talked and they looked startled to hear my sweet voice inside their minds.

["I'm able to do this since I was nine months old. Only Eirwen and Sir Gregory know about it. Eirwen discovered right when it started, once it was one month after he first saw me. Sir Gregory discovered yesterday night. That's why I want to ask you to keep this a secret. Forever if possible."]

"Oh my god-"

"If you're able to do this since you were nine months, then you've been reading our thoughts since we've met?"

I knew he would be worried about this fact, it was expected.

["Yes. I can't control it. It's kinda troublesome, believe me. Some nights I can't even sleep, hearing all the noises from everyone who's in the estate."]

"I didn't ask you before, but how big is your reach?"

Sir Gregory asked curiously.

["Well, I haven't look into it exactly, but for now it's 250 kilometers."]

"Then, you're able to know who's coming at the estate before they even enter it?"

["Yes."]

[Her voice is so beautiful. It makes my heart warm and calm. I'm so surprised that I can't say anything... this is so amazing. She's such a genius.]

["Thanks for the compliments, Rae. It's good to know you feel like that. Don't worry about talking out loud, I can hear you even when you don't found the words to say it out loud."]

"Evie..."

"You're such an amazing kid, Princess! I'll keep this as a secret- as you may have read in my mind, I do care about you and I don't want you to be hurt. And it's an honor to know how smart and special you are."

["Thank you, Georgie!"]

"Also, your voice is gorgeous and relaxing. It's amazing to hear."

I laughed.

["Thank you. Rae said the same."]

[And wow, she spoke really beautifully. Her vocabulary... a child wouldn't reach her level without studying a lot. She must be really a genius.]

Pfft, that's funny and true.

I am a genius.
