Chapter 28: Sideways

Miranda’s P.O.V

After what happened last night, I have been avoiding Davien which is no easy feat. I mean, we live under the same roof, and we work at the same place, so you can imagine how badly I am failing at this. We came back last night, and the car ride was extremely tense and awkward. I was fidgeting the whole way, and from the corner of my eye, I could see that Davien was calm as always, but his grip on the steering wheel made his knuckles white, which made me think he was just as uneasy about this as I was.

I won’t lie, kissing him was probably the best thing I have ever experienced, and it made me feel alive. I liked it so much that I didn’t want him to stop; I want it to go beyond that. I had to remind myself that a) I’m still technically a married woman, albeit getting a divorce and b) he is also technically my boss.
