Camille had never been overly fond of attending big social events where people made it evident that they had lots of money and many connections. The evening was rather bland, with nothing much going on. Most of the night consisted of her keeping her eye on Miranda, who didn’t seem enthused to be there more than her. She was just about to fall asleep in her seat when suddenly the music got more upbeat, and couples began to occupy the dancefloor.

Like the gentleman he is, Jason offered her to dance and she happily obliged. He wasn’t exactly the best dance partner out there, but he wasn’t a complete dud on his feet either. It was a distraction that she very much needed if she was going to last an hour or more at the party, which she wished she had ditched instead of attending.
