30. Richard's Changes

Krystal's POV

"Hello, Richard? Have you had dinner yet? How about we have dinner together and reconcile?" I asked on the phone.

Richard, on the other end, could be heard letting out a long sigh. He seemed to feel strange about my sudden invitation. Looking back, I had never asked Richard to talk to me first.

If we fought, Richard was always the first to make up, either by taking me to a romantic dinner together or buying me jewelry or the latest clothes from my favorite brand.

I smiled sarcastically, half-mocking myself. Just to prove my suspicions about my own husband's feelings for the surrogate mother, I'd done something I'd never done.

"Okay, Krystal. Where are you now? Do you want to be picked up?" asked Richard after a long pause. I had to check my phone line again to see if we were still connected.

"Where are you right now? I'm on the road," I replied while slowing down the pressure on the gas pedal.
