31. Richard Finally Found Out

Richard's POV

"What? You yelled at me just because I tasted a piece of steak? Are you still mad at me?" Krystal exclaimed with an unreceptive look.

I took a deep breath, trying to restrain myself from venting my frustration on Krystal. True, I was still upset with her. I was just hiding it. I thought everything was fine until Krystal pulled the trigger; she tasted the steak I bought for Nikkie.

Didn't Krystal already eat? Why was she being so childish by tasting someone else's food?

Krystal let out a long breath. She raised one eyebrow. She said, "Okay, give it to Nikkie. After all, I only tried a little."

Without replying to Krystal's words, I darted straight to Nikkie's room. Was she already asleep? Usually, she would come out to welcome me home if she wasn't sleeping.

I opened the door to Nikkie's room but couldn't find her anywhere. The bed looked neat, but I started to feel something was wrong.

"Nikkie? Where are you? I brought you a steak. You'll like it." I called out to Nik
