Chapter 31: The target

Dexter stared at Ambe’s nurse for a moment when their eyes met.

"De-Dex…" Amber called him.

Dexter quickly approached the lady. He was happy because she was able to say another name. "Do you need anything, Aunt?"

Dexter felt the forced movement of her palm to respond to his holding her hand. He turned to Kailani, she remained at the door, seemingly watching around. "Is there a problem with Jenny?"
