Daphne's POV

A whirlwind of blue and dreamy white rushed past, startling me as I tried to comprehend what exactly might be wrong.

I swirled fast enough to meet with its pace while moving swiftly toward it when the kids walked in, pouting their lips. “Mother” they both clung to me, which was unlikely of them. Their lips contorted as they squeezed onto me.

My hands smoothened their hair. I was glad that I had taken a bath and I looked fresh because how exactly was I supposed to explain to them why exactly I was in a jacket when it was late in the afternoon? They were surely bound to ask.

“Are you fine?” I pulled them off, staring at their features while my heart slammed hard against my rib cage at what might be possibly wrong. Lorenzo hasn't acted that way before. He didn't even acknowledge my presence. He had looked like a man chased by demons.

“ Sure?” I wanted to know when they bobbed their heads, just enough to assure me, but that tingling sensation in my heart remained.
