Killain's POV

The Lakehouse was gorgeous. I don't know why I never thought about buying a property like this for my own mental state. There were no neighbors, no sound of kids, just birds and the gentle swirling of the lake in the distance.

“All I want to do is jump inside and let the lake wash off every tired bone in my body. But I guess we have other things to do.” Melissa said with a hint of sadness in her tone as she turned away from the edge of the deck on the lake and walked back to meet Stephen and Killian who were half way through the deck.
