Chapter 33 Nia and Her Mate

I entered the kitchen and headed to the table with a smirk on my face.

"Did my idea work, princess?" Azrael asked me and I nodded.

"Yes, he refused to remove his mark," I said softly as I rubbed Lucian's mark on my neck. Azrael chuckled and his eyes changed to a light green color. I eyed him strangely and sat across from him.

"Your loneliness manifests itself into the entire realm…does that mean that you can change it based just on how you are feeling?" I asked him carefully. When he looked over at me he shrugged.

"It was once a lush area centuries ago but shit happened and my sorrow made it rain constantly. When my heart grew cold so did the rest of it," he said stoically and I frowned.

"I'm sorry…it must be tiresome," I mumbled and he asked me, "how so?"

"Just being alone with the apparitions. By the way, thanks for your hand-wavy thing and for taking away the dark circles under my eyes…I had a rough night," I mumbled softly and gave him a small smile. I realized that Azrael was a
