I missed you

**Emily’s POV**

I stood rooted to the floor, and in shock. I couldn’t quite fathom why Alpha Alexander was acting the way he did or why he was suddenly behaving like he had seen a ghost.

Another thing that drew my concern was the fact that he was refusing to leave, even after he had successfully escorted me to my room.

He looked like he didn’t want to leave me alone, and in a way I didn’t want to be left on my own either.

I took in his overall drenched appearance quizzically and when he still wouldn’t say a word about what was happening, I went on to ask, “Why are you wet?”

He suddenly snapped his bowed head up to look at me with an expression I hadn’t seen on him before, but then looked down at his wet clothes before shrugging.

“I went into the River. I thought you were in it.” He replied slowly, his voice came out as hushed whispers as if he was quite afraid of waking the people around the house up.
