Chapter 69

Celine Coleman POV

My heart pounded hard against my chest as I waved my hand on Jeff's face, and when I confirmed he was already asleep, I grabbed my phone and tiptoed to the door. I twisted the doorknob carefully in a way that it didn't make even a single sound, and when I was able to pull the door open silently, I made my way out of the room and closed the door back, finally releasing the breath I'd been holding unknowingly.

"That was close," I muttered and finally walked down the walkway that led to Bryant's room.

I knocked on his door when I got to his room, and he ushered me in. I pushed the door open and peeped inside before I walked in fully.

"Bryant..." I called his attention when I walked in and found him close to the window as he stared out of it, and he immediately turned his wheelchair to face me. I had expected him to frown at me or get mad at me, but he just smiled, revealing his set of perfect dentition.
