Interrupted

Miguel's POV

Throughout the day, my mind was solely on the thoughts of how to start a conversation with my wife when I reach home.

It was a difficult thing for me because I'd never tried to start a conversation with her. I got down from my car and stared hard at my house.

I had half the mind to turn back and return to my office, but I stood firm. I'm going to take my Secretary's advice. I will talk things out with my wife.

It was the only way. I can't keep ignoring her all my life when it has gotten difficult to do that.

Jewel and Star were whispering like they normally do when I walked into the house. Most times, I don't get what they discuss that always gets them invested.

Immediately they saw me, they hastily rose from the couch they were sitting on. The expression of guilt on their faces made me suspicious.

They looked like kids who were found with their hands in a cookie jar.
