Despite the jealous snake of envy that hissed in my heart, I didn't make any move.

Laughter and excitement filled the air and Lycans and vampires prepared for a running match.

When Vlad's gaze met mine, he broke into a smile, beckoning for me to join him, but I shook my head.

Taylor insisted on running with the boys and even went to the coach to plead her case. Suppressing my laughter, I shook my head again.

Nova turned around when Vlad was signaling that I join him. Her face morphed into an ugly frown and I lowered my hoodie, not in the mood for any drama.

The whistle blew, marking the start of the race. The atmosphere became electric as factions admired and cheered for their own.

Vlad shouted my name, urging me to come down. I rolled my eyes, aware of Vlad's persistence, but the lack of space prevented him from coming to me.

"Excuse me," I said politely, to the people beside me and climbed down the bleachers, making my way towards him.
