Chapter 59

Alex moved into his house. There was no one downstairs. The servants were not around either.

He did not want to conclude yet so he decided to go upstairs to Clara’s room. Without knocking, he twisted the door knob.

Behold Clara was lying on the bed, asleep. Disappointed, Alex gently closed the door, he wanted to head back to the office and he vowed to deal with his mum later.

“Wait,” Clara said to whoever it was on the door and Alex stopped immediately.

She then turned around. “ I didn't know it was you, Alex why are you home? Did something happen at work?” Clara asked, so concerned.

Alex knew that there was no way he could tell her that he suspected her and that was why he came so he needed to cook up a lie.

“I came to pick up a file that I forgot.” He lied.

Then Clara rose from the bed, “Have you?”

“Unfortunately it seems like I didn't actually forget it. It should be in the office, I will get going now.”
