"I don't think we have anything to talk about," she said.

"What if I say we do?" he replied calmly.

She stared at him, and he continued, "You have a good friend named Julian. The Four Seas Corporation just hired her, and I believe she may have already received the news."

Implied within his words was another meaning: the Four Seas Corporation could also make decisions not to hire.

"Is this a threat?" Vivienne asked irritably.

"No," Ezra shook his head lightly. "I just want to have a chance to sit down and have a proper conversation with you."

After a moment of contemplation, Vivienne took out her phone and made a call to the manager of the club. Once she secured her time off, she looked up again and asked, "Where should we talk?"

Ezra took Vivienne to a restaurant, a place he used to take her to frequently. Vivienne always liked the restaurant's milk tea, the yin-yang milk tea, which was a must-order item for her.
