Chapter Three

Kimmie stomped her foot angrily on the door of her boss's office. She hated Brian with every fiber in her, the effect of having your boyfriend as your boss; was you losing both your job and man when you get apart.

The bastard had cheated on her with one of the workers in the office and got her pregnant. Brian showed no remorse calling her a bore; saying he had gotten tired of having to see her every time with nothing new, no spice to add to the relationship. All she did was work with the same routine.

She had laughed loudly at his assertions, doubling as his personal assistant and girlfriend had not been an easy task. She harkened to his needs both office and home, most absurd of it all was she lived in his house. Kimmie had confronted him on the rumor that he was having an affair with Kimberly the human resource manager and Brian owned her pregnancy.

In response Brian had told Kimmie the story of her life, fired her and sent her packing from his house. Saying he didn't want to see her or any of her things in his house by the time he got back. She wanted to cry but not in front of him, she couldn't give him the satisfaction of seeing her break.

She walked out with nowhere in mind, her heart raced at the betrayal. She had been with Brian since college, he was from a quite comfortable home. When he talked about opening a restaurant and hotel his parents had been in full support providing him with the money and resources he needed.

Having studied business administration; Brian had asked her to take care of his administrative activities and work as his personal assistant. They had been dating since their third year in college. She was extremely happy, having worked two jobs in school to keep her and her mother afloat.

Kimmie's mother lived in a shabby apartment working as a nanny downtown, her determination to further her studies and make it big in the industrial world had pushed her through hurdles to get through college. She squatted with her very good and supportive friend Bella, her parents were just as nice as she was and let her stay all her years in college with them.

But the offer proposed by Brian had made her leave, she had imagined a fairy tale ending between the both of them. Building his dream company together, getting married having kids and they continue both parents legacy when they grow up. But it turned out she had been day dreaming. She had no place to go and no job. She wished she could break Brian's head into pieces.

Her phone rang, she had almost forgotten about the gadget; making her jump at the noise. She didn't bother to check who the caller was, knowing who it would be. She didn't have much callers just her mother, Bella and Brian; who was now out of the picture.

"Hey girl." Bella called out on the other line.

"Hey B." She replied blankly.

There was a momental pause, "what's is the matter Kim?" Bella asked calling her the pet name she had developed since college.

"Well I just got tossed out of a home and job like a garbage. You are talking to a homeless person B."

"Why, what happened, what's the matter with Brian?" Bella asked at the same time.

"Calm your nerves Bella, don't waste your breath on his whereabouts. The idiot broke up with me and sent me out of his house."

"What? Do you mean the rumors were true, he was actually cheating on you?"

"You got it right B. He was cheating, and then he called me boring."

"That bastard! Don't mind him Kim, you do know my house is always open to you. That's better, now I would get to see you every time and spend more time with you." She giggled.

"You are hopeless." She told her smiling, "but I don't have a job."

"We would work through that baby. Do you need me to come get you? I had wanted to inform you that the contract we were bidding for in my company had been approved."

"Wow, I am so happy for you. We should celebrate that."

"Obviously, so should I come get you?"

"No, don't worry about me. I would see you home later tonight, I need some good coffee."

"Alright Kim, I love you."

"Love you too Bella." Kimmie replied hanging the call.

She had been so engrossed in thought she lost track of time and had skipped breakfast. It was still past eleven, she could get some good creamy, rich Starbucks coffee. Not even Brian and his stupid job or home could make her miss eating. With a determined stride she head down to the coffee shop down the office street.

Cedric boomed with anger, he radiated electrified annoyance that would shock anyone who tried coming near him. Adrian had run far from him seeing his state, he had used having a client in his office as an excuse. His other brothers had gone on different ways each pondering on the bombshell their father had dropped on them without caution.

This wasn't the plan, his father was trying to play too smart with them which wasn't allowed. He had told Maria to cancel all of the meetings he had for the day, he couldn't concentrate with his mind in such disarray. He needed something to calm himself before he brought down the whole office with his angry fist.

Storming out of the office, he drove straight out not really thinking of a destination. He had drove far ahead before making a stop in front of a coffee shop. A hot steamy one should lower his sugar level or he might lapse into high blood pressure at this stage.

The brewing coffee in her hands and the smell emitting from it, drowned all of her worries. She had been too engrossed in the coffee like she had never seen it before, to take note of the intending customer coming into the shop. Without looking she walked right into him, dumping all of her coffee on him. The man hissed in irritation.
